Absolutely stunning stained glass windows. A beautiful historic site. Well heated, which was a relief from the biting cold in the ramparts.. free entry too!
What an absolute gem of a place to visit. We will be back.
We love the gargoyles on this grand structures, inside is huge and foreboding, we especially liked the stained glass window, definitely worth a visit when in the area.
A very beautiful cathedral in the center of Carcassonne. Great gargoyles and a great tower. Nice to see just from the outside if you are not into cathedrals.
Carcassonne is an absolutely incredible place! The ancient castle, the sense of history and strength in its walls, and the breathtaking cathedral all create an unforgettable atmosphere. It feels like stepping back in time — truly magical and awe-inspiring.
Nice example of medieval architecture
Beautiful church. We were there on Sunday morning around 1100, so caught a bit of the service. Not sure why, but there were armed soldiers nearby. We only stayed a few minutes, but it was interesting to see the start of the service. Not sure if it is open other days.
Fantastic atmospheric Catholic cathedral with beautiful stained glass, lovely lighting, interesting Chapels and ancient history. We are lucky to be staying nearby where we enjoy views of the gargoyles and Tower.
