Just came back from a holiday in Corsica, I must say the place is totally stunning and full of wilderness and character but the welcoming to tourists is almost totally not existent. Arrived on a Sunday morning at 7am by boat from Italy, no public transport available until Monday at 6:30 am…. 😱 the only available method of transport around the area is taxi which costs 90€ for half an hour journey to saint Florent… it seems it’s all planned so that the trekking tourists are totally left with very high transportation bills and no support from the local Corse touristic board. Really sad, as this is an absolutely amazing place to be but a shot to the head with transport pricing. Be aware!!
Kind and helpful employers who speak English. Got a beautiful map, hiking guide and useful informations
Very helpful center, plenty of information and maps - plus we were able to buy our concert tickets let’s there for the evening show in a church .
The train left late (15 minutes after the scheduled departure time). We had to walk and stand at least 30 minutes - we travelled only 10-15 minutes by the train. This was not a train trip, and we did not get previously any correct information about that. The office gave us a satisfaction questionnaire which was only in French, and we did not get any compensation.
So helpful. Emile told me what I could do so easily by bus, and I had a great visit as a result. Give Emile a pay raise!
If you want more information than just the "petit train de Bastia", you're better off asking elsewhere, or simply searching online.. it doesn't seem like this office deals with Bastia tourists. I understand that most people coming to the island drive, and Bastia is merely a stop in their trip, but can't you have more information for the few that decide not to drive? No recommendation of beaches to go to, actually we were told that they had no clue on how the beaches are like???!!! They advise you to wait for a "minibus" to take you to l'Arinella, that comes every 2 hours.. and when it arrives, a 6-seater vehicle shows up, first 2 families standing took all the 6 availvlf seats .. would anyone call that a minibus I understand that the city wants to mostly cater for people that rent cars .. but can't you have at least someone with little more knowledge for tourists that choose not to rely on cars? I'd advise anyone coming to Bastia to simply search online and gather information from the big mess that is the web, because this office will give you no additional knowledge beyond that
Bastia Offices De Tourisme Attention to cheat and to your security!! One of the worst experience in my life. A place full of incompetent people. My girlfriend and I took electric bike two times. During our second trip they gave us a bike with the front wheel a bit broken (we didn't notice it at a first time), so after riding for some time it suddenly exploded. My girlfriend risked to have a serious accident and be hit by cars. We tried to explain what happened and they just answered "It happens also if you drive a car to have an accident. Now you have to pay the damage". So they wanted us to pay 105 euros to change the wheel. But that's not all folks! While I was paying the 105 euros, I discovered just by chance that they took 300€ from my credit card on our first trip. They tried to cheat me. Fortunately they gave me back the cash. I know that this story seems invented, but I have all the receipts to prove it. Trust me, don't go there!!
The guy that we speak with was friendly and caring. Very nice. 😊
