SCCV SIX FOURS - THE VIEW

During our stay at the hotel, we decided to dine at the in-house restaurant for one of our dinners, drawn by the promise of a fine dining experience with beautiful views. Indeed, the views from our table were absolutely stunning, with a breathtaking panorama of the mountains and a charming garden featuring two fruit trees. The dishes served were fantastic, showcasing the culinary expertise and creativity of the kitchen. However, the overall experience was significantly undermined by several issues with the service and upkeep of the establishment. The first sign of trouble came when one of our hosts accidentally dropped a dish. While they assured us that a replacement would be brought promptly, it only arrived after we had to remind them later in our tasting menu. This lapse in attention was further evident in the servers’ lack of diligence in refilling our water and wine glasses as well as the inconsistent speed in the delivery of our dishes, leaving us to spend the evening admiring the scenery while often feeling neglected. Another disappointing aspect was the staff's lack of knowledge about the garden. Despite our curiosity about the fruit trees, none of the staff members could tell us what they were, which seemed like a missed opportunity to enhance the dining experience with some local insight. In terms of upkeep, it was disheartening to see many dead flowers left in the bushes, detracting from the otherwise beautiful garden. Such details, though small, contribute significantly to the overall ambiance and are crucial in a fine dining setting. In conclusion, while the food was delightful and the views magnificent, the service and maintenance issues we encountered were too significant to overlook. Sadly, these shortcomings overshadowed the culinary experience, and as a result, we do not plan to return.

The food, the service and the atmosphere are of course excellent, there's no arguing about it, but I must say that I was disturbed by the excessive presence of the waiters who kept offering more and more bread, and in addition, the piece of meat in the main dish was not that pleasant to eat. This was a wonderful dining experience. An extra plus, was that most everything was recognizable, the tastes were just exquisite with perfect service from numerous staff and wait members. Chief is not trying to totally 'reinvent the wheel' for a good food dining experience.

Wow! Dining at Le St. Estève is an experience worth traveling for. While traveling across the south of France my wife and I stopped at Les Lodges St. Victoire and Le St. Estève to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Writing a review about the food would only cover part of the experience. The view and setting was beautiful and romantic. The service team worked in perfect unison and with the highest degree of excellence I have ever seen. Watching the servers work together was poetic in and of itself. Then there is the food... Chef Julien Le Goff and his team are artists. We were taken on a 7 course culinary tour of local Provencal French dishes. The flavors were complex, balanced and well planned. Absolutely exquisite. If you plan to be in the south of France anytime soon, please... make Le St. Estève part of your journey. It was a perfect way to celebrate our anniversary and likely one of the biggest highlights of our trip. It’s a good French restaurant located in the hotel vicinity itself. Very convenient to pop by and make reservations with this Michelin starred establishment. We thoroughly enjoyed the 3 course meals very much and the service was attentive + personal . A bit on the high side but it’s worth it.

Absolutely delicious and stunning dishes. We definitely will be back here next time during day time to see the Sainte-Victoire 🤗

Le St Estève - the best restaurant in Aix-en-Provence, with stunning panoramic views amidst beautiful mountains and olive groves. The food was exceptional and the service was even more impressive. This restaurant deserves at least 2 michelin stars, and even exceeded many 3 michelin star restaurants in all categories. Thank you to the staff for making very kind accommodations to our requests.
