Avis
(Voir la traduction française ci-dessous.) We visited this hotel for the restaurant specifically. They have a great little crêperie. I've had crepes across the region, but these were by far my favorite. I had a savory galette with the meal that I chose from the "build your own" menu, adding smoked sausage, cheese, and egg. And it was the best galette I've had in France. My wife agreed that her galette was the best one she's had here too. For dessert, we had caramel crepes, which had the most incredible caramel we've ever had. This is a gem in the old area of the city, and I can't recommend it enough!
Very disappointing! We wanted to have a small bite while visiting this beautiful village. Unfortunately the service was not okay. Very unfriendly. I guess they were tired... When we asked for a salad there was only the one with salmon available and te 2 others we wanted were not. On top of it, they told us because it was a Monday they where out of bread. We paid 12 euros for a very expensive salad...
We stayed at a double room for one night. The room was small but sufficient. It was charming but dated. The bed was not the most comfortable but fine for a night. The curtains did not block the street light and the room was not very well insonorated. The shower did not drain very well. ||The staff was friendly. The crepes from the creperie downstairs were good. The location was great for visiting the medieval town as it was situated inside the ramparts of Guerande.
Situated in the heart of beautiful medieval Guérande, Roc Maria offers traditional hospitality in a historic building. The rooms are simple, but well appointed, they have probably changed little in two hundred years, apart from the addition of a modern bathroom and a comfy bed. It was all very clean.||Breakfast is simple, but the bread was delicious and the jams seemed home made.||Friendly service and our dog was made very welcome too, which is always a great plus to us. ||There was a bit of noise in the evening while the crêperie was open, but after 11 pm it was very quiet and we slept well.||Excellent value for money, I would certainly stay here again.
Not flashy and few extras but for the price this well positioned small hotel is more than adequate for 2or 3 nights. Stairs are a bit steep and rooms a little dark but everything worked and the creperie is well worth a visit. Parking is close by but is not designated so a bit hit or miss we were lucky on our 3 nights. 2 level parking behind Hotel de Ville||250 meters away also an option. Very pleasant staff . A lovely little town.
When arriving by car be prepared to find your way in the narrow streets of Guerande. You can park for a few minutes near the hotel entrance to unload your luggage. The receptionist will show you a nearby parking area in easy walking distance. The hotel staff is very friendly. The rooms are rather basic, but very reasonably priced. The bathroom is OK, with a shower in the bathtub that permits you to stand upright! The restaurant menu includes only salads, crepes and galettes. For that lovely steak and fench fries there are many options around town.
Excellent location within the old city. The rooms are basic but clean and with character. It is relatively cheap- so good value for money. The staff was nice. The building is antique and the resturant is in a lovely room. There are many stairs to climb to the rooms.
We had a brief but pleasant stay at the Hotel Creperie Roc Maria during our visit to Guerande in May. Clean room and a comfortable bed. The website photos of the rooms make them seem much larger. Don't be fooled, although, to be fair, they are normal sized for most European hotels. You must traverse a part of the restaurant to reach a winding stair case to the next floor where the rooms are located. A bonus is that there is a parking space quite near the hotel. To get to the hotel you need to convince the gate guards that you have a reservation inside or walk to the hotel and then come back with an authorisation from the front desk staff so that you can get your car in. Good value.
