Super delicious!!🙌 If you pass by here and don't go to this restaurant for dinner, I think it is a pity…..!!!
Can't comment on the rooms as we haven't stayed here overninght but we've been coming here to eat every year we holiday in the Dordogne. They always offer lovely food with great service. Friendly staff and nice wines, e.g., Gloire de Mon Pere from Tour des Gendres and Mirabelle from Chateaux Jaubertie. On sunny days, eating 'al fresco' under the woven vine leaves is a real pleasure. Book in advance as it's always popular.
***WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD***||This hotel was booked as we were visiting family near by and were excited to have found somewhere so near for a good price as we were staying for 4 nights, However it quickly went downhill when we got to outside the room, the smell of sewerage hit you like a tonne of bricks but I tried to brush it off as our room was right next to a toilet, and hoped that it was just the toilet that smelt, however once the room door was opened it was clear the room smelt too. We opened all doors to try and vent the room and off we went for the day to see our family, when we came back to the room we were greeted again with the smell. This smell continued to linger for our total stay!| |Our second morning we went down to grab some breakfast (which we were advised was included) and was advised we were too late, complete fair as it was 9:20 and breakfast finished at 9:30. So Karine allowed us to have a coffee and an orange juice. (This is relevant for later. So we put our order in for the following morning to eat at 8am. The following morning comes around and we head down to breakfast early at about 7:45am to be told through the door by karine we were too early. So we checked our slip which said breakfast was served between 7:30 and 9:30am, again really disappoint and felt karine could have been less rude. ||It gets to Sunday night and I arrive back at the hotel to pack as we were leaving on the Monday, karine knocks on the door to ask for payment, I advised this ain’t a problem however she would have to wait as my partner had the card. ||My partner gets back later than planned therefore karine knocks on our door at 11:30pm to ask for payment ! ||The bill comes to a really odd amount so we check what we are being charged for and we were charged for the orange juice and coffee ! Which should have been included. ||Our overall stay was terrible and the general cleanliness was appalling. The extractor fan doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned since it wa
Highly recommended. We stayed 4 nights and loved it. We actually had a couple of problems with the rooms we were first given. Nothing serious, just annoying. But the manager did not rest until we were happy. That sorted, we had an excellent dinner the first evening on the terrace. It was so good we ate dinner there every night we stayed. And were never disappointed. Good selection of wines, not too expensive, and representative of local producers. The hotel's location close to many caves, lots of beautiful villages, and many scenic drives was ideal for us. These is also a nice old church right near the hotel if you want a bit of quiet time for meditation. And all excellent value for money.
We had dinner here in May. Good service and really good food for ok price considering the quality. There was an amuse bouche and soup before the starter. My pork dish was super tasty, rarely had better even in France. Also the location is nice and rustic. Enjoyed it bigtime.
What a wonderful find! A very enjoyable meal in a lovely shaded terrace with very pleasant and friendly service. All in all, an excellent visit and we cannot wait to return. The set menus are great value and we were pleasantly surprised to discover that they also include a "mise en bouche" and a tasty soup. All the food was delicious and very nicely presented while the quantities were generous. Highly recommended and worth going out your way to visit it (and the lovely old hilltop village it is in).
Nocturnal market here each on Sat. night 7-10pm. Visited 9 July Local food/drink producers & seating/tables for eating. Food very reasonable & good. Great 2 piece band playing lots of well known tunes. Bring your own plate, knives/forks if possible. Really enjoyable evening.
We had an amazing dinner here. All my previous reviews will have to be reduced by 0.5 to make for this one at the top of the heap. It was outstanding. We had the "Menu Formula" which started with a soup, we then had an entree, I had the best Fois Gras I've had, complemented perfectly by a fig jam. My partner had the mushroom ravioli, which were exquisite. The mains were Beef Perigordine and Roast duck. Both were outstanding (Duck was probably the winner, if we had to pick one). The desserts were excellent -- I had profiteroles. Worth every calorie. The setting was romantic beyond measure in a hill-top village with a 14th C church, completely out of the way, in an arbor under the grape vines.
