BOUILLON MAYRON

Amazing local restaurant in a beautiful square in Aix en Provence. There was a queue of locals when it opened so that says a lot! Intimate and stylish inside, we chose to sit outside in the square on cute little tables. Wonderful atmosphere and traditional, but very well perfected local Mediterranean food. My chef partner was in heaven! Also very reasonably priced and fantastic service. Highly recommended.

Le Bouillon Aixoise is a true gem. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for the area. The menu is short, which I personally see as a very good sign: fewer options, but everything cooked exceptionally well. A must-try dessert is the Flan Pâtissier. The top is caramelized with sugar, giving it a subtle crème brûlée character and a unique flavor that sets it apart from other flans. For the main course, I highly recommend the Pièce du Boucher with truffle sauce. It was outstanding. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Aix-en-Provence.

Been twice since moving to France and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. One of the main downsides of this place is that there is no booking system so it's likely you'll have to wait for a seat, espeically in winter when the outdoor seating is less attractive. So my advice is that if you're in a group of 4 or more, try turning up just as they open so avoid being dissappointed or perhaps on the hour as people would usually begin leaving. Generally this place does high paced French dining at very reasonable prices. If you're looking for fine dining and tasting menu's this ISNT the place to come. It's in the name 'Bouillon'! Upon being seated you are presented with a menu which is a very simple A La Carte with Entrees, Plats and Desserts all on one page. You then order your Entree and Plat then once you've finished, the waiter will come back to take your dessert order (which you absolutely cannot miss). Wine is ordred from a large board which the waiter will bring to you and they have a lean selection of local and bottles some bottles from slightly further away priced well. The food arrives very quickly and for the speed at which is arrives, it is presented very nicely and so far I haven't had any complaints about the taste and portion sizes. Same goes for dessert. Both of my visits have been a very satisying experience with my only gripe being that the waiting can be a tad chaotic being the high turnover place this is. Overall, if you want a quick and cheap meal in Aix showcasing classic French cuisine. This is the place to go.

While looking for a good place for lunch, we came across this restaurant. It looks very inviting, has a great atmosphere, and is in a nice location. The only downside is that the tables are placed very close together, so at times you can almost follow the conversations at the neighboring tables better than your own. The food is solid and well prepared, though nothing particularly special — which is perfectly fine for a bouillon-style restaurant and pretty much what you would expect. The service was fast and friendly throughout our visit. One small disappointment was the rather limited selection for vegetarians. Overall, still a pleasant spot for a casual lunch.

I had the asparagus with wild garlic and aioli as a starter. It was really good! The ribs with potatoes were well seasoned but for me a bit too fatty. It’s a good way to try out French traditional food for a affordable price! :)

You get what you pay for. Here, the servings are basic with no fuss -sausage with mash, is exactly that. Prices are low, enabling a two-course lunch for less than 20€ (justifying the 4 ⭐️review). Especially the escargots and the sausage aux herbes were really tasty. Nice location with a calming fountain as backdrop. Friendly service.
