The River Loire in Tours is very low in the Summer, but you can get a small boat trip and view the local bird life. Tip - take a cool bag and a bottle of chilled wine. Tickets from the Tourist Office. It is a pleasant way to spend an hour.
In the evening the students meet and party until late at night. The karaoke bar next door adds sophistication to the atmosphere.
If I'm honest this part of the Loire lacked interest. The guide was enthusiastic to impart information on the fauna and geography, history. It was mostly in French naturally..we suggest you use instant translate
A very passionate guide (Carlo) who can hold your attention. Also spent extra time to explain things in very good English. The slow pace of river and non touristy boat ride is what you go for to end the evening with. Tickets can be pre Booked at tourist office to be sure the boat is available.
Quite a boring boat tour, the river itself doesn’t have much interesting to see. Our guide spoke in French to ½ the boat for 50 mins & ignored the rest of us. We didn’t really learn anything except that kayakers should not go through the 2nd arch at Pont Wilson, the 1st is safer! Nothing much of interest for kids on this trip
