Popular place to stay. The hotel grounds and room were well maintained and clean. We had a small studio room which included a small kitchenette. Staff are very professional, approachable and always greeted us with a warm smile. The village of Ascain is lovely and is surrounded by several walking trails. The town has everything one would need, a small grocery store, an amazing bakery, a few cafe bars and restaurants. Many small villages within a 10-40min drive, all with their own unique charm. We would definitely return.

Overall this place was very good. Lovely location in small village close to a few bars and restaurants. Room was spotless and the whole interior was modern and well presented. The proprietor was friendly and helpful. |Breakfast was continental and plentiful.|There is no air conditioning or any facilities to make a drink. Towels small size (we are tall and not fat) and the double bed was standard at 4'6".|Pretty location and courtyard garden a peaceful place to have a drink and snack.|

I was very impressed by all the reviews and decided to book a room in it. Unfortunately this was the worst experience I had in a hotel. When arrive I saw there was some degradation by normal use but also from lack of care and poor building construction. The worst was to find a piece of ham on the table and the bathroom with drops of urine on the floor and seat. Don’t know if it was because I ordered the room the same day and the cleaning was not done and someone “done it” quickly or what. Very bad experience

Very nice welcome. Excellent studio apartment - spacious, very clean, excellent bathroom with a good shower and very good value. Good parking right outside, nice terrace for sitting with a beer. We were there for the one night as it was a stopover - we were travelling from Bilbao to Luchon, but would have been also good for a few nights stay. Nice little town.

This hotel has nice rooms, that include a little cooking area. You can make your own tea and coffee. The beds are very comfy. We tried the breakfast, but we're a little disappointed, there was not a lot of choice. Don't try the boiled eggs. Ours were black inside... otherwise we have had a pleasant stay.

This is not quite a hotel nor an apartment block. You rent a room by the night but have access from outside so have no need to use the central facilities. This may be a good idea because breakfast is expensive for what is provided and there are cafes nearby offering better and cheaper. The accommodation is quaint, with the shower cubicle and wash-basin in the bedroom. However, this all works perfectly well; which is more than can be said for the air-conditioning. The location is very good both for peace and quiet in the village and for the wider area, which is pretty. Would use it agin if going to the area.

This place was just so darling! I loved how small and cute it was! Everything was new and clean. I was just blown away how small and cozy and country looking it was. Breakfast is extra, and we decided to continue our drive. Service was phenomenal! Lady was super nice and accommodating! |
