Avis
The hotel is situated in a narrow humid street & facing a noisy bar at night. Its main issue is the terrible smell all over its spaces. At the entrance which is quite cold & gloomy, you are directly overwhelmed by a bad smell spreading all over to the breakfast area (which is by the way a corner room with no natural light) & the rooms upstairs. You also have like 5 steps from the lift to reach the room floor & at our arrival there was no one to help us with the luggage. Although many emails were sent to the hotel prior our stay & the staff claiming that this issue was resolved, the smell was quite unbearable at our arrival & during all our stay. Thus, we couldn't even sit nor enjoy the lobby & the breakfast area & were out in the cold since morning sitting in cafes nearby to avoid this unhealthy atmosphere & getting late to only sleep there. The rooms were quite cramped, level of cleanliness average to poor with dust everywhere & a smelly carpet. The staff is too impersonal & most of them unprofessional (an email was sent to them after our stay & to date no reply). They couldn't even provide us with an extra duvet noting that the heating was always turned off by the cleaning staff the second we leave the room. |You can find in Paris way better rooms & hotels for the money you pay there. Avoid at all cost.
Perfect place to stay. Train network was within a block, lots of food choices nearby. Rooms were good for the price! The beds were a bit hard so if you like a really soft bed I'm not sure how you'll sleep. I like a medium bed and felt like they were on the firmer side but I still got adaquet sleep!
Nice and affordable hotel in a great location. Walking distance to the major notre dame train station, as well as to the marais neighborhood. It’s down a side street that cars cannot drive on, so you would face a few cobblestones and stairs with luggage. There’s a few stairs inside the hotel to reach the elevator platform, but the hotel staff were helpful with moving bags.
Overall, everything was fine until the last night. However, on the final night, the receptionist who said her name was Nikki made us very uncomfortable with her attitude. Even though we gave our room number and our names, she kept asking us to confirm them repeatedly, which felt unnecessarily rude and disturbing. We also experienced an inconsistency regarding breakfast. Previous receptionists had told us that breakfast was free for children. However, on our last morning, Nikki tried to charge us for our child’s breakfast. After we objected, she also said that breakfast for children was actually free. If we had not known this, we would have ended up paying extra for no reason.Cleanliness was another disappointment. When we first arrived, we were given the wrong rooms. The first room had a strong unpleasant smell and was not properly cleaned. The second room they offered was completely messy and dirty. Only after we took photos and showed them to the receptionist did she apologize and give us a third room. The location of the hotel is very good. However, because of the reception staff’s attitude, the room change process, and the cleanliness issues, my rating can be no more than 3/5.
Stay here. Great location, rooms and staff. Wife and I stayed five nights. The wheelchair disability room on the main floor is very convenient. Not so much for the rooms on the other floors. Great breakfast (extra$) too.
Great location but that's where things end. Staff was friendly but room was awful. First floor room felt like a dungeon on street level and was loud the entire night. Gross carpet in pattern to resemble hardwood floor. Bathroom was terrible with a shower head with no defined shower so who bathroom was constantly soaked in a layer of water on the floor and fixtures. Definitely not a 3 star accommodation
The hotel was nice enough however two things let them down. 1. We arrived at 4.30pm, which is well into the time to check in but our rooms still weren’t ready for another 15 minutes. It’s winter so we really wanted to get out again as quickly as possible to enjoy the rest of the daylight. 2. The mattress on my bed was very lumpy.
Pros: Location.|Cons: We had two (2) very small rooms, "as described". Both rooms had a musty smell. Experienced wet carpet in both bedrooms from a bathroom leak. The front desk person said, "The place is old". Most of Paris is old. Small breakfast room.
