An important piece of history. The site has a lot of destruction, the tower collapsed in 1910 but the main building has been refurbished. The cemetery contained within the cadastre is well maintained and has a beautiful aspect.
It’s a ruin … but the size gives an idea of the historical importance of these buildings.
Nice monument, well kept and description in French, Spanish and English. Amazing view as well.
A must see gem if you are interested in Templar history. Some basic info is available on site referencing the ancient & modern history of the Commenderie & the Templars. Easy access to an ample car park (we went up in a 7 metre motorhome) & also a perfect location to sit & sample the local fayre for lunch... take your own though, nothing is available at the site..!
