Came for the winery “tour and tasting”. The self guided tour is awful. Its a QR code you scan with your phone and walk around the property staring at your phone watching videos of the owner and emplyees. It was very uninformative and awkward. The wine tasting itself was incredibly rehearsed and ungenuine. She barely poured enough wine to taste. The wine itself was devine. I wish someone would have informed me prior to booking the tour. I wouldn't have wasted the time or money on the “tour” I would have rather came to the restaurant to enjoy their wine.
This was our first time visiting the French Riviera, we stayed in Nice and on the way to Vienna flying out of Marseille we wanted to find a nice winery that we can spend a couple of hours and enjoy local wine and food, after a couple of hours of googling and reading reviews we chose Domaine de la Font Des Peres because of its views. We arrived and our expectations for the views were exceeded, we had no reservations and the host had no problem sitting us, we asked for the best local white wine, appetizers and a main course. The appetizers were amazing, the wine was phenomenal and the bread was to die for, we have tasted white wines at wineries in Italy, USA Napa Valley, Australia, Austria, Greece, North Macedonia and always asking for their best white and without a doubt this was the best white wine we have ever tasted. The desert we had was out of this world and the service was excellent. I don’t remember the name of the wine but I have some photos and the host can add if he remembers us we visited there on September 18th and we couldn’t leave a tip because my wife didn’t ask for the tip to be added to the check. We highly recommend this place and we will definitely come back and bring friends and family.
I often dine at the finest French restaurants. I was at Chez Bruno and the food and service were night and day different. There is a snooty, unaccommodating quality to this place. . I made a reservation and nowhere was it made clear that reservations were for the indoor restaurant. When I asked to sit outside, I met with resistance. They argued that they were fully booked outside despite the fact that I was very early and ALL the tables were open. They tried to stick me at a high top that wasn’t suitable for a short person. When I asked for a regular table, I was told those tables have reservations. I have a reservation, I said. They said they reserved in advance, as did I. Very unpleasant. And the pork I ordered was hard as a rock. And the vegetables were dry as a bone and grilled without seasoning. Just awful.
A superior experience! Amazing location, We had a wine tasting tour (12€ per person, definitely worth it) and had a great time learning about the wine making process, and of course tasting the great wines of the place. Our guide was very nice, we had lots of fun!
Last year we have visited the Restaurant twice because the dishes were very good. And we had a nice view at the terrace. This year the evening we wanted to eat there the restaurant was fully booked. But they offered us the Bistro. We went there and had the worsest Pizza in our life!!! The so called „Teglia au choix“ was hard like stone and very difficult to eat. It was a small piece of something like pizza (smaller than the pizzas you get as streetfood to go in Italy) for 12€ !!! …and unfortunately we had two of them! Additional we had one portion of a little bit of tomato (cold from the refrigerator without taste) with a small piece of burrata for 9€ with a boring dressing. We had 4 different glasses of wine. All of them drinkable but nothing special. And from my point of view a small glass of Bandol blanc for 12€ is too much if it is offered directly from the producer. You can take this as gastronom if you are a reseller. I am really sorry to write such a bad comment but we were really annoyed! We left the Bistro with a bill of 85€ and this still hungry!
Amazing location offering gorgeous views of the rolling hills and vineyards of beautiful Provance. Great service, very friendly and accomodating staff. Very original, tasty, well-composed dishes, prepared from high quality fresh local ingredients. Overall, well worth the trip into the mountains!
The setting is stunning and a walk around the steep vineyards will set you up with a good appetite! The menu is full of delicious locally sourced produce artfully constructed into familiar dishes with an interesting twist (eg a couple of fried eggs from the domaine topped with corail d'oursin - effectively the fishy seawater you get from the only edible bit of a sea urchin!) The house wines on the menu (we had the Bandol rosé and the domaine's own red) were perfect accompaniment for our respective dishes. I should add that this is hearty food...there was no chance of squeezing in dessert or the much anticipated cheese after half a starter, entrée and plats.
great location, not too far from Marseille. amazing service, view and wine:) definitely worth every € btw pets friendly
