Amazingly beautiful coastal path with stunning views of the shoreline and Antibes. We took the number 2 bus from the Guillabert stop in Antibes to the Fontaine stop near the coastal walk. We started our hike at Billionaires Bay and headed back to Plage de la Garoupe in that direction. That path at Billionaires Bay begins quite rocky and gets flatter and easier as you move closer to Plage de la Garoupe. There is access to the coastline on most of the trail with stunning views the entire path. Some areas are hilly with steep stairs and pathways but handrails are provided to help with balance if needed. Very few benches or areas to rest unless you want to climb into the rocky area and enjoy time resting there. Most of the walk is in full sun and make sure you have hats and water since our walk with plenty of stops took us about 2 hours. Overall, fantastic afternoon and we enjoyed the peace and quiet on the trails.

Scenic coastal hiking path along the Cap d’Antibes with open sea views and rugged shoreline. The trail is exposed and very dry, with little to no shade for long sections. Bring enough water, especially in warm weather, as there are no services along most of the route. Well worth the walk, but preparation matters.

(Info as of May 2026) Please note that if you try to route from Antibes to this side of the hike, Google Maps will say that it is closed and route you through residential areas instead. This is not accurate as there is a path along the beach to reach this entrance (walk down the stairs to the beach, cross it, and you will see the gravel path marking the beginning of the trail).

At the beginning it’s great and easy to walk. The view is spectacular. Unfortunately it had rained so it was a bit slippery, so be careful and wear good walking shoes. The further you walk the more difficult the path is with rock climbing a bit. But nevertheless it was definitely worthwhile.

Excellent hike of about 1.5 to 2 hours. Wear good gym shoes for walking on a lot of rocks. Bring water. No bathrooms on the hike. Beautiful views and not much in the way of swimming coves.

Highly recommended! Park your car at Plage de la Garoupe, there's quite a bit around, if you go early enough. Also, in the summer months, do go early to avoid the heat, and be sure to wear a good pair of shoes - leave the sandals at home. Also bring water as a big part of the loop has no shade. If your adventurous, bring a bathing suit/towel , as there are many spots to jump into the amazing water and cool down. Very beautiful walk and not too difficult. Loop is 4.8 km.

I tried to access the trail from Plage de la Garoupe, but the whole area is under construction and completely dug up. Even though the Antibes municipality website says there are signs and an easy access point from the beach, I couldn’t find any entrance at all. I spent almost two hours walking around the nearby villas, trying to follow different routes on the map, but there was still no way to reach the trail from this side.

You have to admire the skill of the workmen who carved this path out of the cliff face. And you also should deplore the landowners who walled in their property right up to the cliff edge and so forcing walkers to use a man-made path hanging precariously over the foaming sea in places. You will need a head for heights and you should definitely wear rubber-soled hiking shoes or boots as the rocks are often uneven and are slippery after rain. There are plenty of steps and they don't contrast and can be difficult to see so make use of the steel cable handrail. Google Maps informed me the path was temporarily closed and the sign at the start at Plage de la Garoupe also said Ferme (there had been heavy rain and winds for a couple days) but the gate was open and a few intrepid souls ventured through. It is a fairly easy and pleasant walk in good conditions but there is really not a lot to see when you are walled in on one side.
