I had an extraordinary culinary experience at this restaurant in Amiens yesterday, and I wanted to share it with you. Our waiter was simply wonderful! He patiently explained each dish, taking into account that we're not from France and aren't familiar with the local cuisine. He was extremely sociable and even helped us take some photos, which was greatly appreciated. The food was delicious and fresh, with a daily menu that changes with the season. We followed the waiter's recommendations and ordered the Poulet des Hauts de France, escargots, pièce de boeuf and foie gras. The foie gras was simply amazing - the best I've ever had! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Amiens. Don't forget to make a reservation in advance, as it seems to be a popular spot. Congratulations to the young waiter and the chef for an excellent meal!"
My husband and I were hoping for a leisurely meal before our return home. I will start with the positives. The food was extremely tasty and the set menu and the wine were both fairly priced. Unfortunately, service was extremely slow - we didn’t get a drink for an hour after we’d arrived. I had to give our food order 3 times to 3 different people. This was despite saying we had a train to catch. Multiple other would-be diners left without eating. There was no accountability at the end either. We requested a reduction in price because of the poor service, but this was refused (in angry French I couldn’t understand properly). I hope the service improves because the food is worth having. I would advise against turning up hungry or thirsty though!
Amazing experience. We were there with two small kids (3 and 4 years old) and they had tasty french fries for them. Our menu was really good and we would definetly come back if we'll be visiting the city again. The people in the restaurant seems to be 90% locals which is always a good sign.
Delicious food, amazing atmosphere, and a wonderfully helpful waitress made our evening unforgettable. The dishes were full of flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with love. As for the Irish coffee—let’s just say it lived up to its name a little too well. I ordered a coffee with a splash of whiskey, but what I got was a generous pour of whiskey gently whispering “coffee” from afar. Absolutely loved it!
Went there for Valentines and we had the pre-set menu. The food was very delicious, we had the Marbre de Fois Gras, followed by bouillon de foie gras (super special) then Jus de Veau and Dos de Cabillaud as main dishes with a couple of wine glasses. The food experience was superb, the only downside was that we waited 30 min to have our order taken but I guess it was related to the place being fully booked.
Nice place sitting outdoors. Cant say there was anything impressive….the waitresses seemed overly busy by the number of customers. However they were friendly. Cafe gourmand was a nice one. Don’t be in a hurry because the service takes a long time.
Nice place at a great location. They found a table for us even though we came at lunch time only for a quick snack of fries and a drink. The garden and terrace would be excellent for lunch if the weather allows. :-)
We have been to Amiens three times now and eaten here 5 or 6 times, we love it. 🥰 Staff are very nice and the food is amazing 🤩
