Port Grimaud truly feels like a little Venice – a smaller, well-kept version of the famous city. Built in the 1960s, it’s full of charming canals, with many homes and apartments having their own boat docks. At the heart lies a central square, surrounded by waterways that you can explore by hiring an electric boat and cruising around at your own pace. The town is spotless and very well maintained. It’s a self-sufficient port with plenty of restaurants and a few shops. Ice cream lovers will be spoiled for choice, as there are many gelaterias – almost too many to pick from! Overall, it’s a lovely place to stroll through at leisure and can easily be seen in 1–2 hours. The only drawback is the parking. There’s a lot just across from the entrance, but it’s extremely expensive and the price increases every 15 minutes. Thankfully, the street parking nearby is more reasonably priced. I’ve taken off one star purely because of the outrageous parking costs.

Port Grimaud is rightfully called the 'Venice of France'. Built in the 1960s, Port Grimaud consists of numerous canals, with many apartments having their own boat docks. In the center is a market square with a lively market and numerous restaurants, ice cream shops, and souvenir shops. There is also a nice sand beach, facing Saint Tropez. You can get there by car (big parking lot) or by ferry from Saint Tropez.

A nice village for a short visit. We came here as a group. We had an excursion by boat for about 30 min. Such a ride cost about 6.- euro. The houses look really nice: each house is printed in a different colour. The houses represent private property so can be reached by boat by its owner. There are many cafeterias and restaurants. I visited one cafeteria: prices are high or I got overcharged. I advise it for a short visit.

5.0 Exploring with Jade

Port Grimaud is absolutely beautiful, Often called the “Venice of Provence,” this charming town is filled with colorful waterside homes, scenic canals, and beautiful bridges, making it a must-visit destination on the French Riviera. We enjoyed strolling along the canals and taking in the unique blend of Provençal and Venetian architecture. Renting a small boat to explore the waterways is a great option, it can offer an up-close look at the stunning waterfront properties. The local market was vibrant, with fresh produce and artisan items perfect for souvenirs. Port Grimaud combines the best of French culture and coastal beauty—highly recommend visiting this hidden gem if you’re in the area!

Pastel colours make this an attractive hideaway port. A bit like a mini Venice. If you want a quick look around then definitely take the 20 minute boat ride to see the sights.

Mini Venice. Super nice no cars. Lots of cafes and shops. Same prices as at tropez though. Lollll
