We have spent an enjoyable 3 days at this Hotel. We used it as a base for visiting perfumers in the area but a couple could be entertained without leaving the premises. Various sized rooms were available- We had one of the cheaper doubles but it still had a view and a private balcony. Breakfast and dinner were available at the restaurant and both meals were at an excellent standard. For Australians, the traffic could be intimidating as could be the width of pathways. Bear in mind the French citizens have coped with this for centuries so the best advice is to maintain your direction and everything falls into place.
When we booked with trip.com I asked for hotels in Nice close to the train station because we were walking.Best Western Grasse was the first to pop up and said it was close. It isn't..Total misrepresentation. We were not in Nice at the time. We tried several times to call but got a hold line. When we discovered the fact that the hotel was nowhere near Nice, we tried calling several times to see if we could transfer our monies to a Best Western in Nice, but no one ever answered the call. Our train to Nice Town was due to arrive at 11:30 pm. What to do? We needed a place to stay, so we booked Hotel Busby through Trip.com. We tried calling the hotel for a late check in because our train didn't arrive until 11:29 and they only checked in until 11:30. Seriously strange. Even Busby's driver tried to reach the hotel but NO ONE WAS ANSWERING THE PHONE. What kind of hotel doesn't answer their phone? So we booked ANOTHER hotel through *********** and they booked us for the wrong day and said we could not check in until 3 pm even though it was 2 am. Again really wonderful customer service..for two elderly people on foot. We finally booked a 4th hotel, in a very scary neighborhood for $200 after the train station closed and we had no where to go other than sleep on the street with the homeless...so no we are not happy and we seek compensation for this monetary and psychological trauma. What we went through is an outrage for anyone, but what if we had had little kids? My husband has a medical conditional that was exacerbated by this debacle. At the very least Our monies should be refunded by trip.com or the hotels or some sort of compensatory measure should be negotiated for what these hotels put us through. Linda BownKim Collier
A typical Best Western hotel, situated outside of the main centre of Grasse, but within walking distance to Fragnard, one of the many perfume houses in Grasse.|The rooms are clean and functional. There is a nice swimming pool with loungers and large terrace.|A small bar is available - however if you have pre-paid for accommodation be prepared to pay for drinks as you go.|Alfresco dining is available, but the food that we had was very 'average'. Having said that the breakfast was very good.|Considering the size of the hotel, the parking is somewhat limited.
Everything about this hotel was exceptional. I stayed for five nights, costing me about USD145 per night. The room and the bathroom were spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. I have only positive memories about BW Plus Elixir Grasse. Free parking was a definite plus as I was driving during this trip. The staff were always available for help.
Very well balanced of price and quality. I liked the furniture and well designed interior. I noticed that breakfast at the hotel is well prepared and tasty. I think it has various options so I didn’t stay hungry. Also the heating in the rooms worked very good which is not so common. The only thing I didn’t like. When you enter the room it had some weird smell. But it was fine on a couple of minutes with a window open. Very nice hotel in general with super friendly staff. You can speak English.
Reading other reviews I was somewhat concerned. Yes the room was small but had all amenities you would expect fo a 4 star hotel. And enough space for all our clothes and suitcases. Pool environment was very nice and pool water at 30 degrees temperature for a relaxed swim after a day of sighseeing. Breakfast was fine for 15.90 euros. Personnel was kind and helpful. The location is good for visiting various sites around in Cote d Azur. Grasse though was not what we expected it to be. But there are other places worth visiting in less than an hour travelling time. Menton, Monaco, Nice, Villefranche sur mer, Mougins, Valbonne, Cannes....and more.
Pretty property , lovely pool, great breezes and outdoor seating area. Friendly helpful Front End Staff. Relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was good. Dinner -eggplant parmigiana was delicious. Rooms are average for this area. Beds quite comfy. Very clean. Easy to relax here after busy day out and about . Got a great recommendation (and she made our reservation ) from Front Desk as hotel restaurant is closed Fri and Sat nights for dinner. (Bistrot 34) just 6 min away. Good value. Would stay here again.
Nice and quiet hotel. The staff was great and very assisting. Rooms are adequate though the bathroom was quite small. Sleep quality is good. Great breakfast. There is on site large parking. Outside pool is a treat after a long day. Overall, highly recommended
