Avis
Amazing château with a rich history and amazingly well preserved portraits and furnishing. Well worth visiting.
A small but a good place to come to plus and some good views from around the garden area and in the place itself, a good place to come to and see when in the local area.
It was our second castle on the way what we visited in same day. When u enter the castle , first u will see a gift shop , inside the shop u can find so many good gifts. After u can visit the castle and make a travel at past. End of visit castle , u can go back to castle and visit the big garden with lot of flowers. U can sit in the garden and enjoy the time.
We visited the chateau for the second time and were delighted that we arrived in time for a complimentary guided visit. It is in French but that was fine for us. We have found that the smaller chateaux, often overlooked, have the most interesting history and have some amazing architectural and historic value. Talcy is one of these gems. It helps to understand French and be interested in history but it is well worth a visit and ties in with other chateau in the region
If you are close, why not, but if you have to drive far to visit it, then do not bother! First you will be welcome by a very cold and unfriendly lady, who does not seem to enjoy what she does, and probably prefer cats to humans. Then the explanations to move around will be provided by a local with a strong accent at an Eminem's speed...so good luck not to get lost! Finally, the castle is small and not that interesting, with very few furniture and rooms to inspect. The garden was inexistant (late march) and we were advised not to go next to the trees due to the strong wind, so remained the wine press and dovecote which were both phenomenal! Overall very disapointed, but the restaurant next to the castle, L'auberge du Chateau, was a good surprise.
Very well preserved and beautiful garden.
Small castle but very nicely furnished, gives a good idea of how it used to be. The pigeon tower is the biggest in the area and a nice asset on site to visit. Also the garden is well maintained and offers a nice short walk. Worth visiting when in the neighborhood.
Very charming Little castle!
