The food is beautiful, tasty and creative. A short menu, elegant choices with unexpected yet simple ingredients and preparations, fresh vegetables handled with love, excellet meat and fish. A lively dish with tapenades and an eggplan puree for sharing, a tuna tataki with oriental flavours and chicken dish (A Ukranian staple, rivisited) with a fantastic pea-based side); a chocolate and beetroot dessert we liked a lot. Bread is baked in-house ( gluten-free available AND good). The wine list is short and well thought, we had a Georgian white, very nice. The room is managed with grace, attention and a smile, the decor modern, the chairs comfortable, the overall experience greatly enjoyable. Prices within range.

To say this restaurant is incredible would be an understatement. I don't have the words to describe how fantastic this place is. First, the food. Everything was fresh, delicious, and perfect. Then, the service. Wow, absolutely impeccable. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he took the time to explain everything: the concept, the menu, the food. And lastly, the ambiance and decor. This restaurant was clean and well decorated with items that I'm assuming are native to Ukraine or created by Ukrainians. I absolutely need to go back to try more of their menu.

It’s a bold move from this young Chef, the Staff was nice and the venue was cozy and elegant. for all that I gave 5 Stars. I remember the Chef mentioning it’s a fusion of Ukrainian popular dishes with a French touch …keep that in mind. Can’t wait for the evolution of the menu. Wish you success!

We had an unforgettable experience at Malva, a Ukrainian-French fusion restaurant in Lyon. The food was absolutely incredible—beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, truly on par with a top Michelin-starred restaurant. The service was also exceptional—attentive, warm, and professional from start to finish. As Ukrainians, it was a joy to taste familiar dishes reimagined through the lens of French cuisine. The fusion was thoughtful and creative, honoring tradition while elevating it with elegance and finesse. Malva is a must-visit for anyone looking to discover something unique and refined in Lyon. Highly recommended!

Attentive service and top quality food. Herring lovely. Beef tongue delightful. Vareniky raviolis were the favourite. Bortsch was excellent. Chicken Kiev was the best I’ve ever had. All in all a top restaurant that is sure to become popular soon!

This restaurant was the absolute highlight of our girls trip to Lyon. The food was amazing and the staff was so kind and welcoming. The chef is a culinary genius. Keep this restaurant on your radar.

BONUS: They have a handicap ramp for wheelchairs! Incredible, unique experience and food! The borscht gazpacho knocked my socks off - so fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. And that was just my entrée! The owner is so kind and his staff are extremely talented. Lovely décor, a terrace and the entire front of the restaurant’s windows open up for fresh air. Perfect ambiance for a gastronomic meal!
