Have used SolidWorks for over a decade through work. Finally got a private 'Maker' license. It is dreadful. The SolidWorks program itself is fantastic, but Dassault has thoroughly ruined the experience with anything and everything that surrounds the program. The 'platform' is unfathomable, even something as basic as changing my credit card information took me 3 evenings to work out. Support is non-existent, updates fail regularly which renders the entire program unusable. It's impossible to work with reliably. Currently I have cancelled my subscription because the software got so corrupted after a faulty update that SolidWorks will neither install, run, or uninstall. Switched back to a premium version through my employer only to find out that every file I have created in the last 2/3 years can only be opened by a Maker version of SolidWorks. They stole my drawings, effectively. They have lost a very loyal customer in me.

As per all the other reviews. The 3Dexperience platform is certainly 'an experience' but not a good one. It is flakey at best, if you can ever get it to load correctly. I am amazed that they are still going. I looked at this a few years ago and rejected. Just tried again and it has NOT changed. Look elsewhere. This is a poorly managed and thought-out platform.

Frankly, DS should not have brought SIMULIA and it's softwares. The company higher management is dominated by CATIA and SOLIDWORKS people and they have no idea what is required from a SIMULIA point of view. You do not require M.Tech and PhD degrees for CATIA and SOLIDWORKS. But you require M.Tech and PhD for SIMULIA - to even understand what is happening in ABAQUS, SIMPACK and TOSCA: CATIA and SOLIDWORKS are paid better than SIMULIA. So, imagining a person with PostDOC degree in SIMULIA finding himself getting the same pay as a person with a bachelors degrees in the other brands.

OMG - the software 3DExperience is so terrible on so many aspects that it should be called 0DExperience. So frustrating..

Wir schreiben den 07.04.2025. Am Tag vor unserer Diplomarbeitsabgabe. Leider wurde unsere Konstruktion mit 3D-Experience erstellt. Dadurch das am heutigen Tag alle Server von Dassault-Systems nicht funktionstüchtig sind, besteht nicht die Möglichkeit für uns alle Teile und Zeichnungen unserer Konstruktion abzurufen. Vielen Dank für die Großartige Unterstützung in all den Jahren welche von purem Leid geplagt waren. 👍
