Amazing gorge, check out the natural springs at the northern entrance. Just be careful (in June) of the territorial swallows 😉 Awesome to ride through this short gorge on the bike. There’s space halfway along for cars to pull over and take photos. One way traffic system operates during the daytime hours, expect 3 minute delays. In Spring time, the white wisteria trees lining the river to Axat makes the valley smell of Jasmine. It’s incredible. When you head south through it, consider following the route up to the Col de Jau. It’s outstanding

The gorge is so narrow that the Aude only allows one lane for the road. That's why a traffic light also regulates safe driving through this spectacular street. A small car suddenly becomes huge.

Very impressive! When u pass thru on your motorbike and you look up, wow! You feel like an ant! And remember, it's a two way road! And trucks use it!

Beautiful narrow roads carved in the rock in the midst of an amazing countryside. I passed hhere when exploring the cathar castles, coming from Montségur and trying to find Puylaurens.

Spectacular gorge! Fortunately traffic is alternating, with traffic light controls. The gorge is quite short so you don’t have to wait long for your turn to go through.
