Rooms are old-fashioned. Bathroom and shower are impractical. The refurbishment was not done by professionals. And wooden stairs outside are unsteady and therefore dangerous.Service was OK. All servants are friendly and aim to help you
Not great value for money. You pay for the location. The rooms were not great, they need better amenities and some upkeep, especially for the price. However the personnel was super nice and helpful.
Absolutely lovely hotel!!! A majestic setting with wonderful staff and service. Can't say enough good things about this little slice of paradise. The rooms are quaint and each unique, the food is excellent and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay memorable!! Highly recommend a stay here. We can't wait to go back!!
The chateau and its grounds are beautiful in many ways but the hotel is rather under managed and lacking in true hospitality. The restaurant was OK but nothing special. Everywhere felt a bit tired. Maybe we hit an off day. Certainly the hotel has potential and a really good front of house team and a better restaurant could transform it into a hotel worthy of its setting.
Beautiful hotel! It was the perfect location for a rest day after our cycling trip before heading to Paris. The grounds are beautiful and hotel is very charming. The restaurant has amazing food too. The service is very friendly. I would definitely recommend for a quiet peaceful place to stay.
What a unique and magical property. I recently had the privilege to stay at Chateau L’Epinay for a wedding and it was amazing. The property is secluded, off the main road, but convenient to the local small town and grocery. The grounds are expansive and varied, I could easily spend a week here discovering new views and delights. The staff and restaurant are excellent, warm hospitality and English spoken throughout.
This was my second stay at the hotel. First of all, the hotel is beautiful and has a lovely restaurant. The service at the restaurant was of a very high standard and the food delicious. The hotel is well maintained and has a natural pool which is special. We also liked the tennis court, bicycles and pétanque. We had a room in the castle itself this time. I wasn’t a fan of the shower in the bedroom itself, it makes the room feel a bit humid/damp so I would choose a different room next time. I actually preferred the bedroom in the outbuilding last time which was larger and had a separate bathroom. The biggest negative this time for us was the behaviour of other guests, specifically their children. Whilst of course this is not the fault of the hotel, we would have been grateful for the staff to have dealt with this quicker. There was an incident where young children were playing in the jacuzzi (which needed to be booked) for around an hour, switching it on and off and playing with the water jets, screaming etc. It wasn’t at all relaxing for everyone else by the pool. The check out process could also be improved as there was only one person on the desk who was dealing with a large group of people and so it took a long time to be checked out.
Attention what room you book. The chateau is great but most rooms are in the other buildings and are super tiny and have no the same charm. If you get a the chateau rooms it is a 5 star experience - otherwise just a room at a fantastic location. The location and property is great and worth the stay. The breakfast is perfect. The fitness room/gym is well equipped!
