Just returned from an excellent stay from 1st to 5th June 2026. ||The room (Lucien) was spacious with a comfortable bed, coffee maker, air conditioning, water, safe, electronic shutters, USB ports and fast Wifi. The bathroom was a good size with two sinks & individual mirrors and hairdryer. The shower was large and modern with plenty of hot water. The décor of the room and bathroom were first class. As there are only three rooms the guest house had a cosy atmosphere with personalised service. Breakfast (from 8.30am onwards) was quiet and relaxing with fresh crispy bread, homemade jam, croissant, ham, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, muffin, cereal & fruit juice. The hosts were friendly and would go out of their way to make sure guests had a pleasant stay. ||The garden has comfortable seating and a small heated pool, a perfect place to relax from the busy city. Bordeaux is only a 15 to 20 mins walk, turn left from the hotel and walk virtually in a straight line. There are also frequent trams close to the hotel to the city, line D, Croix de Seguey stop. The owners also collected me from the airport (€25) but they only offer transfers in the afternoon or evening. The taxi driver charged €40 back to the airport at 7am on the last day. Thank you Frédéric and Pierrick for an excellent stay.
Staying in le Clou de Louis is like staying on a secluded relaxing island - close enough to everything but with spaces to calm down .|The moment you enter the door you feel like an honored guest being pampered with delicious breakfast treats and always with a smile .|All recommendations have been excellent , the plunge pool was a refreshing option during the heat and a private ordered cheese platter has been arranged carefully. Thankyou to Frédéric and Pierrick being amazing Hosts .
Thank you to Frédéric and Pierrick for letting us spend a few nights in their fantastic home! Everything was perfect—the beautiful, tastefully decorated interior, the garden, the breakfast… What we appreciated most was their willingness to always offer advice and go out of their way to help.
... another five star review.||I had never come across a property that had a perfect Five Star rating and was intrigued by Le Clou de Louis. My wife and I were passing through Bordeaux for a few days and I didn't like the hotel offerings that the city offered and decided to book a few nights at this B&B - and we were not disappointed.||The street that the property is located on is very ordinary, and when you walk up to the door you may ask yourself what you had gotten into. But walking in is like the scene from the Wizard of Oz when the it turns from black and white into color. The downstairs is gorgeous as well as the outside courtyard. The room we were assigned was equally impressive and sported a large bathroom with two sinks and a shower which contained a wand as well as rain head, with plenty of pressure and hot water.||The hosts, Frederick and Pierrick, could not have been more welcoming. Each spoke multiple languages and made us feel at home.||The most important part of a stay at any hotel or B&B is the bed, and the one in our room was excellent. The breakfast served each morning was very good, and the coffee was great as well.||The location is outstanding not only because it's located on tram line D, but it's an easy walk to downtown and the town square. We opted to purchase a 24 hour unlimited tram pass for 5 Euros and took full advantage of it. The stop is a block away and can get you into the heart of things in about seven minutes. For those of you who are arriving by car, the property has an agreement with a garage located a block away and costs 12 Euros a day.||My wife and I can't say enough about our stay at Le Clou de Louis and highly recommend it for couples looking for a very comfortable place in Bordeaux.
I would give Le Clous de Louis 6 stars if I could! We spent 6 nights here and it was absolutely outstanding, we have never had such warm, thoughtful and kind hospitality in any other B&B — it was truly unmatched. From the design-oriented decor and helpful in-room amenities to the beautiful, delicious breakfast (including incredible coffee!) and thoughtful touches, both Pierrick and Frédéric went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We would love to return soon. Thank you so much!
While visiting the Bordeaux region in September, five of us stayed at the Le Clos de Louis Hotel in Bordeaux France. It was truly an extraordinary and wonderful experience. The hotel is an old walled in estate. There is a large backyard with a swimming pool and patio where you can relax and enjoy your own private oasis. There is a variety of plants, trees and flowers all around the property adding to the beauty of this special place. The hotel has 3 guest rooms, a large dining room, living room and other common areas throughout the facility. It is essentially like having your own house. The place is extremely clean and well kept. All the rooms were very nice, modern and uniquely decorated while providing you all the amenities you would ever want or need. They cooked us a wonderful breakfast every morning. Pierrick and Frederich own and operate the hotel and are very warm, fun, accommodating and gracious hosts. The hotel is conveniently located a few steps away from the tram that takes you to the heart of Bordeaux where you will find many great restaurants and sights to see. They recommend and made us reservations at great restaurants for all of our evening dinners. We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay while visiting this region. Everything about this place was nothing short of wonderful!! We would highly recommend staying at and experiencing this hotel.
Le Clou de Louis is amazing - from the moment we arrived at the accommodation we knew we had made an excellent choice. The house is beautiful, the interior feels spacious, exceptionally clean, and decorated with great style. We loved the pool, garden and terrace. Our room was fresh and airy, breakfast was plentiful and we enjoyed the varying of pastries each day. Our hosts were friendly (I appreciated their patience particularly when I made french vocabulary mistakes!) and were always ready with helpful tips for our sightseeing. We made use of the airport shuttle on offer which made our arrival in Bordeaux very easy. We think they deserve at least 6 stars!
A lovely property run by two charming owners. The room design & amenities are wonderful, and the included breakfast is fresh & varied. The only small thing to note is the location: it's a bit outside of town, though right on the tram line.
