This hotel is great. The people are lovely and nice. They are proactive at helping you with travel issues, bags, and other. They have a nice courtyard and bar. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the hotel is beautiful. The breakfast has a good selection that is well presented The location has many places to walk around and enjoy including many restaurants with all kinds of food selection. It has a beautiful plaza with a welcoming people.
What a jewel of a hotel. The photo of the outside gives you a hint of what is insidte, however, until you see the hotel from the outside and inside, photographs cannot do it justice. The staff is incredibly accomodating and they are ready to help in any way. Our room was beautiful, the location was amazing and walkable to everything in the city. If you love art, from the moment your walk into this gorgeous hotel, you will be surrounded by incredible art. This hotel warrants every star it has received. You will not be disappointed if you stay there. On a side note, my wife and I rented a car in Bayeux and took a day trip to Entretat. If you have a chance, go there. The seaside cliffs are amazing and if parts of the cliffs look like a Monet painting, it is because some of his iconic paintings were of those cliffs. Also, while in Etretat, you MUST visit the Gardens. You will be amazed. Getting back to Hotel de Bourgtheroude, I want to thank the staff for making our stay so wonderful.
This is a quality hotel in a beautiful setting. The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable. I was upgraded as a Bonvoy member to a junior suite that was quiet and huge. The breakfast was not memorable. The hotel should provide individual soaps, shampoo and conditioner. The bathroom dispensers were cheesy and not in keeping with the status of the hotel. The staff were all very considerate. We would return to thinsafe and lovely hotel.
My stay at Hôtel de Bourgtheroulde, Autograph Collection was truly unforgettable and easily one of the highlights of my visit to France. This remarkable property perfectly combines historic charm with modern luxury, creating an experience that feels both elegant and unique. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the hotel's stunning architecture and rich history. The building itself is a masterpiece, with beautifully preserved details that reflect centuries of French heritage. Walking through the courtyard and public spaces felt like stepping into a piece of living history, yet every area was maintained to the highest standards of comfort and sophistication. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and exceptionally comfortable. The blend of contemporary amenities with historic character created a welcoming atmosphere that made it easy to relax after a day of exploring the city. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and every detail—from the furnishings to the bathroom amenities—reflected the quality and attention to detail expected from a luxury property. One of the aspects that stood out most was the outstanding service. Every member of the staff was professional, friendly, and genuinely committed to ensuring guests had a memorable stay. Whether offering recommendations, assisting with requests, or simply greeting guests with a smile, the team consistently provided warm and attentive hospitality. The hotel's location is another major advantage. Situated in the heart of the city, it provides convenient access to historic landmarks, charming streets, shops, and restaurants. Being able to explore so much on foot made the experience even more enjoyable and allowed me to fully appreciate the local culture and atmosphere. The dining experience was excellent, with high-quality cuisine and attentive service. Breakfast offered a wonderful selection of fresh and delicious options, providing the perfect start to each day. The hotel's facilities, including the
I stayed here 12 or 13 years ago with my husband. Without online maps it was a bit difficult to find because it’s right in the middle of Rouen. This time it’s was a snap to find it. We loved everything about it then and I think it’s even lovelier now. |First, the location is absolutely unbeatable! Right in the beautiful and historic city of Rouen. You can walk to every place, and the GrosHorloge is just a short walk. |The hotel itself is in a historic and gorgeous old building. The rooms are great, with good space and amenities. Our families rooms were a bit apart from each other, and I enjoyed the twists and turns of the walk between. Ask for adjacent rooms if you don’t enjoy exploring the old hotel and just want convenience. |The breakfast, if you choose to eat here, is fantastic. I can’t imagine there could be more choice and we all were satisfied. |Staff is superb. Most all speak English and they are so kind, pleasant and helpful. |Best of all, the prices are quite reasonable for the location alone, but the additional services, history of the building and great staff make it a huge win. I’m glad I brought my family back.
Just wrapped up an excellent stay at Hotel de Bourgtheroulde for my first time visiting Rouen. The location is outstanding -- making most of the sights within very easy walking distance. The room was spacious, clean, safe, and very comfortable -- everything you'd expect in a luxury property. The staff were friendly, sincere, and really made me feel like a valued guest. Tip: this is one of the properties where a courtyard view is a good thing as it overlooks a beautiful 16th century artifact. ||The only thing that was less than stellar was the breakfast -- not bad, but not outstanding. ||Rouen is a special city and this is a wonderful place to stay when you visit!
Lovely building and location but just not good enough for a modern hotel under marriot umbrella and 5 stars. Room had no way to charge phones easily. Nothing near bed at all and elsewhere still meant unplugging other devices. Wifi was u workably slow. Lobby smells of the chlorine from the spa. Lovely idea but not executed up to an international standard. Did a small luxury hotel of the world the next two nights and was lightyears ahead of this property.
Do it - splurge: worth it. Location is perfection, especially for the Christmas market. Lovely, spacious rooms; excellent service; outstanding location for walkable old Rouen. Pro tip: DO NOT DO "IN-ROOM" BREAKFAST; go to L'Aumale restaurant if you choose hotel breakfast. We opted for in-room and got coffee, bread & yogurt for 70e. (Plenty of options within walking distance.) Otherwise, a lovely experience with outstanding staff and perfect location.
