Great place for a getaway. Location is great for hiking, amenities are ideal for relaxing, and food & service are nourishing.

The best Spa area I have ever tried! A very good hotel and very friendly staff. Many routes to walk around and very suitable for mountain-bikeing.

This hotel is a place where you know you will enjoy and be treated right. The Spa area with swimming pool is clean and very well catered for. The food is excellent especially the breakfast. Staff are very polite. The bar is well stocked and the barmen professional and very friendly. The rooms have been recently refurbished. One downside point our the pillows, they are too flat and too soft.This is our third visit and we know we'll be back again.

Nice wellness experience, 7 different saunas, indoor swimming pool. Wonderful hause built on the tree. Authentic design and decoration. Very delicious food in the restaurant. Lovely atmosphere and service. I would like to come back again.

We only used the resturant so can't comment on the rooms, although I think that they will be good. Service and food great, we sat on the terrace overlooking the valley. Traditional quality German Cuisine.

It is sometimes striking how the relation between price (106 euro pp including breakfast) and service is not really existing. We slept two nights here and we found different things that we think are to be pointed out:||1. The bedroom is ok but nothing special. Clean but with a few spiders here and there. The bed for additional guests left in the corridor of the rooms is no good taste.||2. The breakfast is not that great as it is described in other reviews: moreover the responsible people should check the dishes that are offered to guests for picking food and stuff: they are DIRTY! Full with crusts that you can feel by touching with fingers. It is DISGUSTING to then use them for your own food.||3. The food in the evening a la carte was no particular experience. Basic level as per standard typical German restaurant. So if you wish to spend more and try fancy dishes for you and your wallet you might want to try the expensive Michelin place next to the hotel.||4. The waitress for our table was incredibly unfriendly, behaving strange and charging us big portion of food when we asked for smaller ones as written in the menu||5. The spätzle I had as a side to the meat I got were literally swimming in butter - practically they were uneatable||6. The "welcome of the kitchen" in case of ordering a la carte is always a sad pair of roast beef slices covered in mayo and with a few salad leaves with balsamico vinegar||For us the hotel is a 4 star if limited to the nice reception and to the wellness area. As far as rooms and restaurant/breakfast are concerned then we are speaking about a normal hotel with demanding prices if compared to what offered.

This hotel is a 4 star standard in our opinion. I have visited this hotel many times for food and for attending family occasions. On this occasion it was a birthday celebration for my aunts 80th. We had a 5 course meal which was wonderful. The food is superb and staff always very friendly and attentive. There is a lovely outside terrace overlooking the forest with stunning views. I would always come back here when visiting the black forest.

We stayed here mainly because it was right next door to restaurant Schwarzwaldstube where we were dining and decided against staying at the much pricier Traube Tonbach. We did not therefore expect much from our stay. The hotel however was a pleasant surprise! Decent service, if a bit lukewarm, but altogether welcoming enough. Neat and reasonably large rooms in a very nice and well maintained building. Easy parking right in front of the hotel. A seemingly great spa facility which we did not have occasion to use. Great breakfast spread with lots of choice. And the dinner at Schwarzwaldstube was just a minute-long stroll down the road...
