Lovely selection of well cooked fish dishes and great staff

I completely echo the sentiments expressed in the negative reviews below. I typically hesitate to leave unfavorable feedback, but my experience at this restaurant was disappointing to the point that it warrants a candid assessment. From the service to the quality of the food, my visit with my wife fell short of expectations. Unfortunately, this establishment did not deliver, and I cannot recommend it. --- Feel free to let me know if you want any further adjustments!

There is a basement and ground floor. Quite spacious. Friendly staff Kids can share a plate of normal size instead of kids menu. Food was so so. The soup of the CAUDIERE Etaploise tasted really good, but all the ingredients inside (carrot vegetables and potatoes) didn't taste anything at all. Fish fillets were over cooked. Saint Jacques risotto was OK.

Pretty restaurant in prime location. The shrimp croquettes were not as tasty as I had hoped, but the tuna and salmon tartare was very impressive. And their selection of beers is excellent.

When we entered the restaurant, it was already quite full. We were kindly guided to one of the remaining tables without having done a reservation. Instead of ordering from a paper menu, the waiter placed a big chalkboard on our table showing the dishes we could order. From fish, to beef, salads, and even one vegetarian dish with falafel. In the end we decided to go from a Welsh plate and a house-made salade Passe Pierre. Both had a good taste. I especially loved the croquettes made from shrimps combined with the raw salmon and salad leafs. I felt that there were relatively a lot of salad leafs compared to the other ingredients, but this maybe a personal preference to have less leafs. As a desert we had the nougat ice cream with red fruit sauce. Really good. We finished of with a coffee. Nice experience in Arras city centre. Not 5 stars, but 4 plus for a tasteful lunch. I'm still wondering what the display on the ceiling represented. A zoomed in tongue?

The experience was the worst meal we had for years! The waitress was rude and unengaging, and did not make us feel welcome at all. This behaviour is unacceptable, and the only reason I gave 1 star for service is that there is no option for zero. As for the food itself, the samphire that is served in the fish dishes was way too vinegary, because it had been over pickled, and ended up being gelatinous in texture instead of crunchy as it should be. Very disappointing indeed. The risotto main course consisted of risotto that had simply been reheated. It had the texture of glue or wallpaper paste. The scallops were not seasoned either. The fish soup was underwhelming as well. I gave the food 2 stars instead of 1 because the carbonade was good. I just feel that so many shortcuts were taken in the food preparation, which ultimately resulted in very low standards of cuisine. The poor food quality and the non-existent manners of the waitress really lowered the atmosphere a lot. We were put in such a bad mood at this point we didn't even want to stay for dessert. We didn't want to give any more money to the restaurant, and we wanted to leave as quickly as possible. This is such a shame since it was our last evening in Arras.

We had high expectations especially since the menu included a lot of fish and shellfish dishes. The food was a bit on the heavy side and things like the risotto with coquille st jacques lacked taste. Our table was in the basement which unfortunately was not very cosy. The worst part of our meal however was the rude waitress who did not even attempt to be pleasant. One of the worst restaurant experiences in the last few years.
