LE MAO SEBASTIEN

A very disappointing experience. The staff was incredibly pushy and rude. They abruptly dropped the bill on our table without us even asking for it, making it feel exactly like we were being kicked out, and they didn't even wish us a good meal. The fish salad was a massive letdown; you pay €23.90 for a dish that is 95% lettuce with only minuscule pieces of fish. It is absolutely not worth the money. When it was time to settle the bill, the staff just silently pointed to the register instead of actually speaking to us. To make matters worse, I had severe stomach cramps afterwards, so the fish probably wasn't fresh either. The mussels and oysters are very small.

Arrived for a very late lunch (the restaurant was almost empty on a rather wet day). We had crepes which were very good and satisfying. The waitress was so friendly and we were made to feel most welcome.

Restaurant ambience was nice and cosy. Burger, fish soup and beef skewer with frites were pretty good. Kid’s menu was value for money. Location was close to the beach. Not sure if smoking is allowed in the restaurant but 2 ladies smoking at the table behind us made the experience less enjoyable.

Le Mao is a great place to stop for crepes or seafood. The crew was really kind, and they recognized us for being there before (as we wanted to try more things on the menu) Really recommend

Beautiful place and very helpful staff. Despite being fully booked, we got a table (we came just at the opening time, others who arrived later queued a long time). Where they missed the mark was with their veggie burger: a potato patty with cheese and pickled onions, with fries and a side salad... Super dry and starchy combination!

This is the best restaurant in town. We didn't have a reservation on a busy cold night, and this was the only restaurant to give us a warm place to sit while we waited for a table, and ordered some drinks. They were very hospitable and kind. Once we got a seating, we ordered the Aile de Raie, the big Plateau de Fruits de Mer, Moules, and the Salad à la Grecques. The food came in big portions and was absolutely delicious! Thank you for a wonderful night. One of the highlights of our trip!

We arrived without a reservation and the kind hostess seated us on the last two-top. We were worried it might be too busy, but the service was excellent and our table felt private despite being close to the door. Our young server was clearly very experienced, and had the perfect demeanour of efficiency without looking frazzled. The mussels with cream - wow. The fish and chips - delightful. The apple dessert - out of this world. And just a few steps from the front door, a magnificent sunset to follow.

After a long morning walk, it was so nice to stop by the restaurant. Tasty food and smiley service. Food portion is quite generous like fish and chip for my son. My daughter also enjoyed her ham and cheese galette. Thank you!
