I had a really nice stay at Hotel Busby. The location is excellent — about a 7–10 minute walk to the Promenade and the beach, and roughly 10–15 minutes to the train station, which made getting around very easy. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff was friendly and very helpful throughout my stay. They offer breakfast for purchase (I didn’t try it), and there are some great added amenities including a small gym, a cozy sitting area with games and books (even toys for little ones), and a terrace out back that’s perfect for relaxing. My only minor complaint would be that the bed was a bit firm and the pillows were a little flat for my preference — but overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would absolutely return, especially for the location and welcoming atmosphere.
The hotel is conveniently located between the beach and Nice train station. Both are within walking distance, although it takes a bit of walking to reach either one. The room was clean, well maintained, and had high ceilings, which made it feel spacious and comfortable. The staff were also very friendly. I accidentally left something behind, and they were extremely kind and helpful in helping me look for it. I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit Nice.
Very central hotel, nice clean room and very comfy bed. There is a small bar off reception and a big dining room for breakfast. My breakfast was included but don’t know if that was the same for everyone. The staff are lovely. Very reasonable rate considering where it is (not far from the Negresco but about a fifth of the rate)! Handy for a long walk along the prom by the sea.
I went with my partner a few days ago and it we had a great experience with the team! Very welcoming when you first walk in, and they speak English and French which is amazing. Our room was very spacious and had a lovely outdoor view. The bed we slept in was like heaven! The staff would always great you when you came in or out of the hotel too. We had to check out at 11:30am but our flight wasn’t until later in the day, so they allow you to leave your bags in their luggage room and collect them when you’re ready, which was perfect. The location is good too, only about a 5-10 minute walk from the beach and not far from the airport either, only a 5 minute train ride away from the hotel
Its sufficient for my long Easter weekend stay, close to the Nice city and close to the Nice-Ville train station which is very convenience to get to other town. Well recommend. I didn't try their breakfast as I was too busy trying other known names patisserier. Close to the beach too.
Great hotel, "belle epoque", style hotel... central location, 10 mins to the train station, 10 minutes to Old Town, a little over 5 minutes to the beach. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and there are many patisseries and restaurants in the immediate area. Highly recommend
The customer service at the front desk and the location of the hotel with its proximity to restaurants, shopping and Nice Airport are the only positive things I have to say about this hotel. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my stay at all. This hotel is old, and that’s okay. It’s been under some renovations from what I can see. Expect the furniture to the doors and windows and such to be old inside the room. I found the pillows to be too flat and the duvet thing. I have some concerns about the flat sheet’s use and cleanliness. The bathroom has no ventilation, so you have to air it out yourself by keeping the door open which may not be pleasant for a number of reasons. The shower drain is a bit clogged as water piles up. You can hear the footsteps of guests in the room above you. Every door slammed as well as soft chatter in the hallway can also be clearly heard. Even with the windows shut, you can hear teens/youth or whoever it is at 4AM every single day hooting and hollering and screaming outside your hotel window. The air conditioning works and is quite decent, no complaints there. I think there’s a bed bug infestation. The first night I awoke, I saw ink blot-like marks on the flat shed and bedding. I didn’t spot any bed bugs, but something bit my hand and it’s become swollen/raised, pink and very itchy. Subsequently, my other guest was bitten 4 times in the arms and ankles. I continued to find these ink blots day after day but the bites don’t exactly line up to be those of bed bugs. I am concerned it’s some other sort of bug infestation… Lastly, the TV is okay. It’s not a smart TV and it’s a bit small. There’s only 1 channel in English, the rest is French TV. The wifi barely works and lags a lot, especially when watching TV shows on electronics or during WhatsApp calls. I eventually just turned it off altogether and used my data instead. I’m surprised this is a 3 star hotel and not a 2 star hotel… I guess the standards in France are vastly different from tha
Our experience at Hotel Busby was deeply frustrating from the start. Due to a cancellation issue right before our stay, we had to book our first night directly via email and the rest through Booking.com. It is now clear the hotel used this to downgrade us. Despite the room from the photos being available, they put us in a tiny, ancient space for three people with constant, loud piping noises and even bird poop on the curtains. To make matters worse, we even spotted a rat on the terrace, which raised serious concerns about hygiene. The lack of respect for our privacy was also a major issue. On the first night at 11:00 PM, someone knocked loudly on our door three times without identifying themselves. It was only after these unannounced knocks that they finally said “service” and entered to claim there was a leak in the reception. Their only solution was to tell us to use all our towels to soak up the water. On the second night, history repeated itself. Despite being extremely careful, we were again interrupted by loud, unannounced knocking late at night. The same staff member insisted on entering, even though one of us was still in the bathroom getting dressed after showering, only to admit after checking the floor was bone dry, that the building's pipes were the real issue and told us we simply could not use the shower. When we asked for a solution, he initially claimed he did not know what to do. Yet five minutes later, he provided a key to a room three times the size. While the rest of our nights in this better room were much more comfortable, the damage was done. The location is good and the breakfast is also fine, and while the rest of the staff were okay, they were far from kind. No one ever reached out to ask if we were okay or if there was anything they could do to make up for the situation. If we had been placed in the correct room from the start, our stay would have been way better, but the lack of transparency, the pests, and the unprofessional intrusions c
