Have to say I was impressed by the appartment. We have been going to Val/Tignes for around 30 years and this is the best residence (at the price point) we have stayed in. Went with Crystal from UK in late March '26. The appartment was quiet, clean, spacious, comfortable, well equipped and warm with plenty of hot water. Ours was north facing with a nice valley view but no sun on the balcony. Kitchen is well enough fitted for the sort of fairly simple catering we do if eating in. Excellent supermarket close by. Arrived quite early so had to wait in the comfortable reception area, could have left our gear and gone for a drink but done that too many times in the past. It's quite a big complex so finding the right building when hauling luggage was a bit of a hassle. Better sign posting would help. Ski room is big with very generous lockers and effective boot heaters. It's genuinely ski in ski out on a beginner slope with a couple of magic carpets. Main lift is the Boisses bubble which quickly opens up the area and links to Val d' isere. Would certainly go again. If driving the car park is underground with very generous wide , high bays and easy access. Didn't actually use the restaurants other than for an apres as we tend to lunch and then have a very light evening meal. Pleasant slopeside bar which does however lose the sun at around 1630. Only real downside in my opinion is poor wifi which while adequate for most things won't allow streaming.
The hotel's location is excellent. We stayed in block C and it was possible to ski down to the hotel (except for the last 50 metres). There is a ski lift and a beginner's slope nearby. The hotel has an excellent area with a hammam, sauna and pool, including a separate children's pool. The rooms were clean and cosy. We had a room for 6-8 people (3 separate bedrooms and a living room). The kitchen has all the necessary crockery, including a coffee machine. You can also borrow board games and a raclette grill from reception. The beds are large and the mattresses are soft. The hotel also organised free activities, such as a mulled wine and local cheese tasting session and a live music evening. The hotel's communal lounge is a great place to relax by the fireplace. The staff are excellent, friendly and helpful even during the busiest times. Thank you very much to the hotel, I can recommend it wholeheartedly!
Checked in after 22.00, got an envelope in my hand with no explanation whatsoever about where the apartment was or how to get there... This is a big complex, so it would have been nice with some direction 😉||This place has seen its golden years, I'm guessing it's from the 90s. A bit worn down, to say the least. Apartments don't have modern features like double power outlets by the beds - so you could either have a light on or charge your phone. Uncozy bright ceiling lights... The kitchen and bathrooms are really worn down. ||The apartment was somewhat poorly cleaned at arrival, sloppily made beds and rubbish (old beer caps) under the bed.||The "gym" is ancient. Flimmering TV, broken treadmill (all week) and really old squeaking machines. ||The steam room and sauna were great but the jacuzzi was not hot enough. Lots of kids in the pool area so don't expect any zen feeling 😊||If you are traveling with an agency that promised "end of stay cleaning" - beware. At Kalinda all guests have to: clean the kitchen completely (fridge, oven, hob, all dishes etc), take all rubbish out and remove all the sheets/bedding before departure, or you will be fined different sums. This is not by fault of Kalinda, but could be good to know (we were misinformed about this).||Getting to the slopes was very easy and the food store is very close by.||For what we paid, we did expect a higher standard and a more modern apartment/complex.
Comfortable ski in ski out in a good location near nursery slopes, ski school and gondola. Is in a small village that has a couple of restaurants, spa and ski shop. |The spa is very well stocked so you can use it to shop for self catering although it’s expensive. The restaurants are av rage, do take away and eat in but get a little boring if you’re there for a week. ||Service in most of the resort was very good and the only real miss from a service perspective was the reception desk where they were not that friendly. ||We did have one complaint at the start of the stay with our room however it was dealt with and the manager was very generous although it was a little slow. ||Only other build would be the oven in the accommodation was really unfamiliar - it was a combination of microwave and oven and didn’t have instructions. It took some time to research and find an online instruction manual and even then we didn’t really ever get it to operate properly as an oven.
The staff here were amazing after we arrived Christmas week with no hotel booking ( scam elsewhere) they went out of their way to find us an apartment late at night and ensured we had the best stay possible . We were more than happy with the apartment , storage in the bedrooms was limited and the oven in the kitchen was small so cooking for seven was tricky but we managed . There were enough places to eat nearby and the nearby shop was well stocked . The pool and spa area were glorious. Really quiet resort that suited us perfectly .
We recently stayed at the Kalinda over new year. The hotel catered to all the basic needs but some very much needed improvements are required including the WiFi, the gym and the friendliness of the staff at times. ||Wifi seems to be an ongoing issue from previous reviews and has not improved. The Wi-Fi you cannot use and was difficult for us to access emails etc. Do not try to work remotely whilst out there, unless willing to use mobile data. ||Furthermore the gym is very basic, many of the machines are falling apart and are unsafe. The treadmill sticks and there is only one so you cannot run as it’s too unsafe. Gym needs urgent improvement! ||The staff were not the most helpful and the swimming pool was nice but during our stay the jacuzzis were out of action or cold. Due to being a busy period for the hotel you would expect they would have these things sorted. ||The resort is lovely but similar to previous people’s reviews there is not much going on and a rather expensive shop and restaurants. The pizza place is good. Connections are okay but definitely need to plan when going to Val disere or Val claret.
Nice location, clean apartment, enjoyed the swimming pool, easy access to snow. But very slow internet 😳.
For a self catering apartment we can’t fault it relative to other places in the Alps. You pay a lower price to accept being a bit out of the action of the main resort, which is fine. We had plenty of space for the 4 of us. Well stocked Spar on the doorstep and also ski hire. |We came as a family, the pool was very popular.|Actually, my only ask would be that the WiFi is upgraded to embrace the modern era. Logging in via a website, every time you want to engage with WiFi, is vintage stuff. I appreciate that cables in the mountains aren’t going to be great. However, Starlink avoids any of these issues so that isn’t really an excuse for a substantial modern establishment. Something to consider.
