LE DOMAINE BLERIOT DESCARTES

The location by the dunes and the beach was excellent for walking our dogs, even though it rained heavily throughout our stay. The accommodation was of a good size clean and well equipped for 2 people. there was only 1 couch to seat 2, so if both rooms were occupied 2 people would have to sit on hard chairs. Nice decking area outside with table and chairs that we would have used had the weather been better.

Only stayed here for a couple of days - is very close to the beach and has a swimming pool that the kids enjoyed. There were 4 of us and 2 dogs so it was a little cosy but the accomodation was clean and practical for us. A good spot from which to explore the north coast. Most important is the nearest bakery is about half hour walk away and there's a small Carrefour shop close by too.

Arrived yesterday with my parents of 63 and 74. Dad has trouble walking far and so far the only trouble we've had is not being able drive up to the apartment. I tend to drive him to reception however, there are some nearer apartments to there (it's just typical ours is in the corner of the complex). We arrived at 4pm on the ferry from dover all on time and smooth, vvf is approx 15mins from the port. As we were early for check in we went to the nearest supermarket which is Auchan in coquilles literally 4 min drive. When we got back the gate was open (which is closed and locked and only residents have the code to open out of hours). Check in was smooth and trolleys were provided to take luggage to apartments. The apartments I like to call chalets are all identical in clusters of their own little circular cul de sac. Each one has a small grass front garden, wooden decking, table and chairs and double glazing. When you walk in you have a 2 seater leather sofa, dining table and chairs, tv and kitchenette equiped with fridge freezer, hob, microwave oven, kettle,toaster, coffee machine,sink, pans, plates, cutlery, colinder, bowls etc. We have a bedroom made up into a double and 1 twin with a pull out bunk bed. As we saw the ensuite shower room in the twin room i gave this to my parents but then was pleasantly surprised to find one in my room too. Everything is so clean and fresh and you can tell they have all be modernised with brand new things i.e. fridge, cooker, shower etc |Last night we went to the buffalo grill for dinner and then sat in the bar in reception for a cocktail and coffee. Downstairs was entertainment in a hall and there is a list of events for the week.|All staff are very polite and no problem with language. |The beach is a stone's throw away but you need to be able to walk up stairs to get over the mound of land seperating you from the beach front which is a shame as it would be a gorgeous view otherwise.|All in all we have had a very plesant arrival and

Booked on a popular website as part of a final leg of a family road trip. ||Excellent choice. Old Holiday resort that has been fully modernised and brought up to date. ||Chalets are perfect for families for longer stays. Kitchen bathroom, en suite. Bar & restaurant brilliant. ||Will return for a longer stay.

Very good experience. I went with my wife and kids, they really enjoyed it. Nice friendly people, very welcoming. Every morning or even just walking passed everyone, everyone said "bonjour" will definitley come again. Its like a butlins or centre parcs plus private access to the beach.

We stopped here before catching our ferry the next morning, it was clean and had everything you would want but I think it’s overpriced as we have paid less for 5 star hotels. I think if it was cheaper it would catch more ferry trade. It served its purpose.

Cute little villas just west of Calais. The food was a bit heavy with fish but what else can one expect being by the ocean.
