One of my best stops in my euro-train trip. A must go tour in Narbonne. It starts with an interactive video-like reconstruction of the houses, then a walk through the ruins where the exposition continues. Extremely well guided and open to questions 😊 done by people that enjoys it

What an amazing visit, learning about the Roman settlement in Narbonne. To start, we watched an excellent 3D representation of the site, explaining the various houses and the architecture and decoration. This made visiting the site so much more enjoyable as we now had a picture in our head of what it was originally like. This is an absolute "must see" when visiting this lovely town. It is a huge part of its history and one of the few places you can walk around the actual site. Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic. He did our tour in English but also is skilled in other languages. At his recommendation, we later visited the Narbonne museum, where many of the original artifacts are now displayed. One of the highlights of our trip!

Definitely worth a visit if you have some time in Narbonne! The site is kept by volunteers who are all very passionate about the history of the site. Two English speaking volunteers took me on a tour of the site virtually and then through the actual site. Seeing the virtual site first definitely helped me to see the rooms in the rooms and different houses of the ruins more easily. They then directed me to the Narbonne Villa museum to see the artifacts that were taken from the site. The museum was all that much better because I could look at the pieces of mosaics and know where they came from. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who has even an hour in Narbonne (as it is fairly close to the trains station).

A wonderful experience in Narbonne. We visited one Saturday (I believe it is only open to the public on Saturday Mornings). The Volunteers found an English speaking guide who gave us a great tour through the site. It is all run by volunteers so there is no admission, but donations are suggested. Definitely worth the time if you are in Narbonne.

First scenic spot i did in Narbonne, and it outshines all the others. All the staff/ volunteers working there are super friendly and knowledgeable, turning an one hour tour into a vivid back in the past experience. Biggest shout-out to Jean-Luc, who is doing both French and English introduction. Get the ticket for video and site visiting, absolutely worthwhile.

We had a wonderful visit doing the virtual tour with Elisabeth, our guide. The virtual tour is a great way to get a sense of these fabulous Roman villas that have been excavated, showing you what they would have been like with the advantage of a passionate guide who know her topic. While the tour was in French, Elisabeth was more than happy to pause and give us more in English if we needed it. A great visit combined with the musée narbo via.

Lovely place! The culture and archaeological expertise you'll find there is really spectacular! I was lucky enough to go during summer on my way back to France from Spain and I met and started chatting with this really amazing bilingual tour guide named Jean-luc, who gave me a basically private tour of the place! Showing me many things that helped further my knowledge in this period of history! Really a fantastic place to go for a good experience and some advanced research on the Narbonnais culture!

Outstanding tour of this significant archeological site. Our guide, Jean-Luc, was extremely knowledgeable, dedicated, and happy to conduct the tour in English or in French, whichever we preferred. Highly recommended in combination with a visit to the Musée Narbo Via -- by seeing the actual location where the mosaics, frescoes, and other Roman artifacts were unearthed (and where many still remain), one gains a much greater appreciation and understanding of Gallo-Roman history.
