Due to a breakdown in our motorhome we were taken to the nearby breakdown recovery and the driver drove us to the B&B Hotel as it was Friday and we arrived after the garage had closed until Monday. The Motorhome was now in the compound. We checked into the B&B Hotel for four nights and were very happy with the room. We have been to a B&B Hotel many years ago in Bayonne, but the rooms there were very small. So we were very happy to find we had more space. The bathroom too was very nice. The continental buffet breakfast was also a bonus. A very good selection of food and as much tea or coffee as we wanted. The staff were extremely helpful and kind and due to our predicament of not being able to use the motorhome for our meals, we were fortunate to have many eateries in close proximity to the hotel. Thank you to the staff for making our stay comfortable and welcoming. Also a good stopover for one night if travelling through France. Lots of parking available. (Even for our motorhome with the trailer on our last nights stay in the Hotel). We spent the weekend exploring Dreux and it's lovely pretty town. Excellent butchers and bakeries. Lovely little river running through the town. Also the cemetery close by was interesting to visit.
It was a good hotel for stopover and to attend an event. My room is clean and quiet and around the hotel there are food and restaurants which perfect for travelers.
Hotel was located in the middle of an industrial estate. As we approached it we saw piles of furmiture blocking entrances to car parks, rubbish everywhere in the streets. The hotel car park was surrounded by high fencing, I guess to keep the natives out and we were the only ones there. This gave me the feeling that my car would be up on blocks the next morning. Checking in to the hotel is by machine at the entrance (no staff) which made it feel like the local YMCA. We persevered but on getting into our room we noticed just how unclean was. The floors were grimey, hair in the shower and pencil shavings on the bathroom floor. As we couldn't complain we decided to vacate and find alternative accommodation. On my return to England I explained this to the hotel and asked if they would refund 50% of the 148.00 Euro I paid, never got a reply.
Unfortunately service is tragic. After making my reservation i the morning I have sent a message requesting a access code to the main gate of the hotel because I was arriving late evening. To enter the hotel car park after 9 pm you need access code. This code haven't been sent to me therefore up on arrival I couldn't access the car park. Fortunately some other guest was entertaining the hotel and he had the code. In the morning at the reception when I requested business VAT reciept the receptionist was very unhelpful as she pretended that she didn't understand English and she wasn't able to help me. Only after I resorted to Google translator I was able to translate my request and after that with great hesitation she managed to print my VAT receipt. I can say I will be avoiding this hotel in the future for that reason and probably the entire chain of this hotels.
I loved the hotel and the ease of checking into our room after the check-in was closed so much, that we have booked a stay at another B&B Hotel for next year! Because we booked via hotels.com I wasn't aware that our booking number wouldn't work on the Automatic Room Dispenser. Make sure if you have booked with hotels.com (or any other 3rd party I would imagine) you need to get in touch with B&B Hotel to get the correct booking number in order to check-in with the 24 hour check in machine. The intercom worked well though and they were able to provide the correct booking number for us relatively quickly.
A warm welcome from the receptionist, and help playing (free!) table football and finding somewhere nice to eat close by. A lovely stay!
Convenient for travelling south with a secure car park and plenty of cheap fast food outlets to grab something to eat. Hotel clean and comfortable but basic. Had to request a second towel because there was only one in the room which was reluctantly provided.
Very clean and adequate hotel. Reassuringly the gate is closed on car park in the evening which is not the case on many other hotels. Selection of eateries adjacent which is very convenient. This is my first stay in a B&B. I would possibly stay in one again. However, let down by the booking and pricing procedure. I reserved online and used an introductory code for a discount on the standard price. How when I arrived this discount was not applied to the room despite me showing the online reservation to the receptionist. This was very poor and turned a happy customer into an unhappy customer. Booking is largely based on the price you will be paying, so this is unacceptable. Quoting one price but charging another at the hotel is very poor. Shame, because this meant my overall experience was unsatisfactory.
