We had a really pleasant stay, it is really quit around the B&B and the room is nice. Its a beautifull location and the host&hostes you can speak English if thats necessary. The breakfast was also really good. Over all it was a really pleasant stay.
What a wonderful place! After driving around the area for sometime, we finally found where we needed to be. Apparently this is because the property is huge (150 acres) and used to have more than 1 entrance into the forest. In your GPS look for Route de Cottenchy in Sains-en -Amienois en follow it until the Ferme de Mamont. That’s where you need to be. Behind the Ferme, further toward the forest line you’ll find the way up to the beautiful main house.|Everything is perfect, and finished up to very high standards. We were staying in the Annexe; an apartment above the barns which was made and finished only last year. Beautifully decorated, 3 large bedrooms with bathrooms and a smaller common room. Beds are very comfortable. The main house has a nice terrace where you can have a drink and lounge. The breakfast room in the main house is again gorgeously decorated, with amazing photographs everywhere of African wildlife, most made. Y the proprietor himself. Luc and his wife are more than welcoming, and have lots of advice about things to do and places to eat in the area. Just driving to our restaurant we saw deer and numerous rabbits and hare hopping around.
I found it a little difficult to find (the location behind some farm building is less than ideal - but don't let that put you off as a long drive way leads you to the property). As soon as I called to explain that I was lost one of the owners was helpful and gave solid directions - and an offer to come and get me! The hotel doesn't offer food, apart from a light continental breakfast, but I was told most guests go into the local village to eat. As I arrived late at 21.00 I was kindly offered bread, cheese and wine which I took in the lounge area. First impressions? This hotel is simply beautiful. With a focus on wildlife of Africa (the owner organises safaris in Africa), there are many impressive images of animals - especially elephants - and photographs of local villagers adorning the walls. There is also a plethora of tasteful artefacts dotted around the hotel all contributing to the vibe. With scented candles in most public spaces and a sound system throughout the hotel there is a strong feeling of being in a place of tranquility and quality. In fact I would say that was the most relaxing hotel I have ever stayed in. My bedroom, I was given the keys to the blue velvet suite, was simply but tastefully decorated with a VERY comfortable double bed, good sized wall mounted tv, coffee / tea making facilities, more than ample storage for belongings and a very large en suite bathroom with walk in shower - but no bath ( unfortunately). This hotel will NOT disappoint. Fabulous. 5/5
To be honest I don't remember the last time I was so impressed with a lodge. Located in the middle of the forest, this is a place most people can only dream of, so peaceful and unique. Have to admit it was not easy to find it especially because we arrived quite late and it was pitch-dark but the owner was kind enough to give us directions over the phone. The house is so nicely decorated, with tasteful details that catch your eye and the rooms are large, with very comfortable beds and cashmere sheets. It is the perfect place to rest for a few days away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Breakfast was simple yet delicious, croissants, yoghurt, fresh jams and fruits and really good coffee. The owners, a very nice couple, make you feel at home and you just want to stay forever. The only regret is that we didn't book two nights to enjoy the surroundings as well but extremely grateful for having found this domaine.
An old refurbished hunting lodge set a mile back from the road. Rooms very large, en suite . Very comfy beds, lovely sheets and towels. chairs out on patio overlooking paddock with horses surrounded by wood land.||Break fast simple breads and jam, fresh fruit and yoghurt. wonderful coffee. all of such high quality and all served with a smile. help on hand if you need it.||No where walkable for evening meals, a drive of a few miles for that.
We arrived late and were made very welcome, the owners speak some English but with some laughing and arm movement we got things worked out. This place has stairs lots of stairs, so be aware. We stayed in the main house and they do close the kitchen area and lounge room at night so you are in your own rooms but the are comfy. They don't do tea only coffee in the rooms and it's a coffee machine. But we did find that you can just get hot water from the machine if you have your own tea bag. The rooms are quite large but there is no were to put your bags but on the floor. Breakfast was a very nice but a cold one, French style ( off course) cheese, pastry, meats etc. The yogurt was omg.
You will be so welcome by Luc & Sabine who can't do enough for you. The wood surrounding makes your stay very enjoyable and exclusive (no parking problem there) and the amazing decor of the gite will be appreciated by all. The rooms are very elegant and spacious with a "je ne sais quoi" feel to it. The breakfast has got this special touch of Sabine from fresh fruits salad to home bake croissants , pains au chocolat, ect.. . We keep going back there every time we are in Amiens because it is like going "home" as we are so comfortable. Bravo keep on the good work
Incredible beautiful hide away spot & exceptional atmosphere. Luc and Sabine are the most friendliest hosts you could wish for ♥️
