I came for a 7-day stay and joined the 6-day daily tennis camp. Overall, it was a really good experience and I can definitely recommend it, especially if you want to combine a tennis holiday with good facilities and coaching. First of all, the facilities are really impressive. The accommodation feels like a proper 5-star hotel with everything you need, and the whole place is very clean and well organised. All the personnel were extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout the stay, which made a big difference. For the tennis side, I would strongly recommend beginners or social players to book at least a few private sessions alongside the group training. The group classes were good, but with 4 people per court it can sometimes feel a bit frustrating if you are trying to improve your basics and technique quickly, as naturally the coach has to divide attention between everyone. Also, be prepared physically — the sessions are intense. I’m a 46-year-old male and pretty active generally, but after the 3-hour sessions (including the 1-hour warm-up), I honestly found it hard to do much else for the rest of the day. So definitely come ready for proper training rather than a relaxing hit-around holiday. A special mention to coaches Roberto C. and Daniella C., who were both excellent. They gave me simple but very effective tips that improved my technique within just a few days. Both were friendly, patient, and made the lessons enjoyable rather than feeling like a chore. If you are coming to the academy as a social player, I’d highly recommend booking a few 1-to-1 sessions with Roberto and Daniella — it made a huge difference for me.
The academy is honestly amazing and definitely worth visiting for tennis lovers. The staff are very kind, and the place is impressive from the first moment. There is also a restaurant and a café where you can relax — everything about the place is beautiful and comfortable.
Tip: there is a difference between the weekly Tennis camp and the daily tennis camp even if you book for a week. (This isn’t clear on the website. When speaking to others, I believe the weekly one is more structured and less disorganised and you will benefit more from that.) Also, if you are a beginner, you will benefit more if you come to the camp with at least another friend of the same level. We booked the daily tennis camp for a week at the Rafa Nadal Academy (one advanced player and one beginner player)—and overall, the experience was unfortunately quite hit and miss. While the facilities and environment are excellent, the quality of coaching and organisation was inconsistent. Some coaches (like Kiko and Luca) were outstanding—clear, structured, and highly effective. Others, however, gave vague feedback (e.g. “watch the ball”) without explaining how or when to apply it, which was especially challenging as a beginner. My partner commented on similar issues in advanced sessions, where difficult drills (like drive volleys) were introduced with little to no instruction. Those instructors also feel like they don’t want to be there. Organisation is the weakest point—schedule overlaps, missing bookings, the app's schedule showing one thing while the coach's iPad reflecting your name in another session instead, and having to repeatedly follow up on sessions (nutrition, cryotherapy, etc) we had already paid for. A functional assessment was never scheduled, and we were only informed after chasing that the doctor will not be there for the entire week. Our purchased gear was also not ready on arrival and we only got it a few days later after repeated requests. When speaking to other participants, these issues were not unique to us alone - others had their different dates for their hotel booking and tennis camp or constantly changing schedules. This disorganisation detracts from the experience as you are there to enjoy tennis, socialise and recover from the training, no
We just played tennis without a coach. The court rental prices are VERY cheap, considering you play in the best tennis academy in the world!!!!
My Review of Rafa Nadal Academy – 5-Day Tennis daily Camp Experience ( arrived Friday , left Tuesday ) Overall, my stay was pleasant, though the tennis training left me with mixed impressions. The facilities are excellent — the hotel, gym, spa, and restaurants are on par with a four- to five-star resort. The food was high quality, and both lunch and dinner buffets offered excellent value. The staff were consistently warm, helpful, and professional, creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout the stay. Special mention of Miriam at sports desk , Gaby at restaurant and Yonimiler at reception - super helpful. The museum which is free for those staying in the hotel is a nice 60-75min visit. The academy is about 40 minutes from the airport (€80–85), and for transport to nearby towns like Cristo or Palma taxis take time to arrive . A free shuttle service to the nearby town, just three minutes away, would be a helpful addition. Where the experience fell short was the tennis camp itself. While the tennis facilities itself are great as one would expect , the daily 2 hr group sessions has clear improvement opportunities 1. Communication can be clearer. The app 360 is very user unfriendly and doesn’t help much. A WhatsApp group would work better 2. The plan for each day during 5 days should be shared upfront and not be a surprise discovery on the day. 3. Repetition of sessions should be avoided and each day should be a new area of focus 4. group training format provides limited individualized feedback. For players seeking specific improvements, one-on-one coaching may be more beneficial and value for money. A 1 hour 1:1 session priced at 90e will give much more benefit than a 2 hour 1:4 session at 107e
Impressive sports facility with top-notch tennis courts and modern equipment. The museum is a must-see, especially for tennis fans. The whole complex is clean and well-organized. Staff were professional and helpful. It’s a great place to train or just visit, although the prices at the café and store are a bit high. Still, a memorable experience for any Rafa fan or sports enthusiast!
This review is not about the residence or the facilities (those are good), but purely about the adult tennis multi-day clinic. I did three days with 3 hrs per day. The first day was decent but the latter two days were not satisfactory. There is no system of assigning players to groups with the right level, at least not that I was aware of, although they did say the coaches would do this. The least I was expecting from a premium academy like RNA, is that you are with players that can return your shots, which was not the case. The maximum rally length was between 2-3. My wife had exactly the same experience, I do feel this academy is extremely commercialised, and lost the personal touch (which makes sense as it’s literally mass tourism here). We will stick to the more personal and smaller academies next time.
Luxury tennis camp with 40+ tennis courts, hotel, restaurants, cross training studio, gym, pool and spa. The adult daily programme is good for the tennis atmosphere/ having fun with a little bit of practice but not much guidance. If you’re looking to make improvements you can look at the high performance programme with 4hrs training per day. Not much to do immediately outside the academy but if you have a car Puerto Cristo on the east coast is quite nice (Nadal’s family restaurant also on the east coast). There’s a shop that has everything and re-stringing is possible/ express option available at reasonable price.
