LES VILLAS VANILLE

We found Villa Vanille by accident towards 8 p.m. one Monday night as we were looking for somewhere to stay for 1-3 days. When passing we saw a sign, did a U-turn and after driving down a little lane discovered a little oasis.||We eventually stayed 3 nights which was good for us rather than stay at 3 different hotels while in the area and while we were there we were the only guests there so from our point of view it was nice and quiet after what we understand had been a busy week for the owners. We chose the best cabin but it wasn't cheap so it represented a luxury over and above our budget. We were able to spend our first full day of two full days there by the pool relaxing after a hectic week travelling around France. ||The only problem we had was that we couldn't work out how the electric plate worked in our room and then discovered that there was no-one to ask as the reception was closed until 4 p.m. so we had to wait to make a cup of coffee after our swim. Eventually at 5:15 someone came and explained how to use the plate and we had our cups of coffee complete with a drop of milk from the owners for each of the two cups of coffee.||Meanwhile we had a lovely dinner on the Monday and Tuesday night even though we are pescatarians there was enough choice for us together with some relaxing wine. On the Wednesday night after we had spent a day being looked after and feted by our friends who live nearby we had a takeaway from nearby Sommiers as the Villa Vanille restaurant was closed that night and the owners had a night off so it was especially quiet and relaxing.||We checked out on the Thursday morning after what we considered to be a real find and a period to chill out during our road trip and talked of plans to return the next time we visit our friends again.||We were disappointed to find that our not inconsiderable bill included an extra euro for the two drops of milk that we had in our coffee. We felt that as the reception had not been manned as advertised

Villa Vanille is located at the end of a tiny road leading out of Boisseron. I passed it without really noticing it when I visited a house to buy in 1999 and hadn't used that road again. It is 2km from home !|I was invited there for a meal tonight. It is a haven of peace with sub tropical plants and a very relaxed tropical style feel. The menu is rather limited, the service was rather slow but once it arrived was worth waiting for. |Can't comment on the accommodation, but the location and ambience are excellent.|The waitress was attentive and very pretty :-)||

We received a gift voucher for this hotel from the family. We stayed in the room Cezanne. There were the mice on the roof , the inside area, which were running and making the noise during the evening, just above us (there are also the big holes on the ceiling). It was the worst experience ever((( My husband wrote to the administrator about it and the administrator wrote - “Tant pis”. That was their response…

The room was amazing and the entire property was unbelievably peaceful. The women managing the villa were very helpful and pleasant. I would recommend Villa Vanille to all my friends and family. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

Beautiful place. Lovely room. Unfortunately the mother is very rude. A shame as otherwise we would definitely have returned after a lovely 8 days.

Unfortunately it was a very bad experience. The attitude of the woman was not at all helpful and she kept telling lies and excuses to us. We really do not recommend this property if you do not want to have unpleasant surprises.

I've stayed at the Villa for a few days in May and can definitely highly recommend - lovely and comfortable villas, incredibly kind owners, intimate and friendly atmosphere, and to top it all off - fabulous breakfasts that change every day and are both copious and delicious.

Alors, là, je suis soufflé. Ca fait plus de quinze ans que j'habite Sommières ou ses environs et je n'ai pas été foutu de voir qu'il n'était pas nécessaire de monter en Cévennes ou d'aller en Corse pour être totalement dépaysé. Chaque chambre (logement) a un style ou un thème à lui. Ma femme avait choisi l'Afrique. On y était !!! En plus, le calme et la nature alentour incitent vraiment au repos. Notre séjour fut trop court, et du fait d'une matinée un peu fraiche, nous n'avons pu profiter de la piscine et surtout du SPA. Pas grave, on reviendra. Et si, comme moi, vous connaissez les petits-déjeuners traditionnellement servis ailleurs, je vous conseille une chose: jeûnez la veille. C'est copieux et super délicieux, alors on ne veut rien laisser. Et il est bien dommage qu'on doive rentre le lodge pour 11h, je serais bien rester à lézarder et faire la sieste après ce gargantuesque petit-déjeuner, mélange de saveurs, de textures, du salé, du sucré, un jus de fruits totalement novateur, des brioches, du pain, un gâteau à la banane (entre autres), une salade de fruits, etc, etc... Je vous le dis: je n'ai JAMAIS connu ça avant. On reviendra. Promis.
