WHAT A PLACE!!! An unbelievable resort with next level attention to detail. The whole team provided attentive and personal service but Mava was particularly exceptional. A genuine passion for wanting us to have the best possible experience. Rooms are amazing with incredible views. food was fantastic. This is a MUST stay place!

Tsara Komba was the highlight of our holiday in Madagascar. The hotel is accessed by a 30-minute boat ride, and depending on the tide, you may have a "wet landing." We were immediately impressed when Nava met us, noticed my husband had a broken flip-flop, and had it repaired before the end of the day.|The hotel is set on a hillside. Whilst the uphill walk to our room at the top was a good workout, it was worth it for the spectacular views and the fantastic outdoor terrace. The food was consistently high standard, from early morning coffee watching the sunrise to the fresh fruit breakfasts and amazing dinners.|A 10-minute walk along the beach to the village to see wild lemurs is also a must. |We highly recommend the private snorkeling trip where we swam with turtles. Our guide was excellent at spotting things we would have missed. Important Tip: As this is a protected area, you cannot wear sunscreen. We recommend wearing a rash vest and leggings to avoid severe sunburn (as we learned the hard way) and to protect against microscopic stinging plankton.|A huge thank you to Nava, who went above and beyond. When we got sunburnt, she provided fresh aloe vera and even took a boat to town to buy us Biafine cream. The service from the entire team was flawless - nothing was too much trouble and we were constantly greeted with smiles by everyone. We would definitely go back!

This team went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable! Forever grateful to Tarryn, who against all odds managed to get us onto a plane to Nosy Be when all flights in the capital were grounded. We’ll never forget the stunning island tour to Nosy Iranja, complete with a stop to hug lemurs along the way! The limited number of lodges made for such a personalized stay — we couldn’t have felt more pampered. We’ll definitely be coming back soon!

Tsara Komba must mean paradise in the Malagasy language because because it is the embodiment of a tropical paradise. It was the ultimate, low key tropical paradise with just 8 rooms and a main lodge overlooking a white sand beach and the beautiful blue green Indian Ocean. ||Our room was directly on the beach with no less than three decks for lounging plus two shaded loungers directly on the beach for whiling the days away. We could step from our room directly onto the sand, and be in the water in about 20 steps. Our spacious Ocean View room had a king bed, two chairs, a writing desk and armoire for clothing. The bathroom had a double vanity, open air shower with rain head and hand held shower, and a separate water closet. The room could be almost completely opened to the outside with louvered windows but closed for the night to keep out the bugs. There was a ceiling fan and a standing fan but no air conditioning. We stayed for 6 days in December, and it was quite hot and humid. It did cool slightly at night with brief evening showers, but both the ceiling fan and the standing fan were definitely needed. ||The views from every vantage point were stunning. The grounds were beautifully landscaped with flowering plants and trees. The lounge had multiple places for sitting and enjoying the view, using WiFi, and for the dining area. Every table in the dining area overlooked the beach and water. There was a lovely small bar space (The Gecko Bar), and the cocktails were both very generous and very delicious! The food was outstanding. Every meal was delicious with the freshest possible fruits, vegetables, and fish or meat, and freshly baked bread. Every selection was healthy, flavorful, and light, so you never overfull. There was an excellent wine list of both South African and French wines, and the coffee was particularly good. ||You could easily spend your entire time at Tsara Komba just recharging your batteries, but for those wanting a little more activity, there was p

One of the most wonderful places I have ever been to, which will forever remain deep in my heart and memory. A stunning location, a perfect beach, and breathtaking views. Peace, quiet, and an exceptionally high level of professionalism from the staff. The cottages were spacious and very clean. The food was fresh and varied – truly excellent cuisine. The hotel manager personally takes care of every detail and makes sure at every stage of your stay that everything is in order. She is very kind and helpful – just like the rest of the staff. This hotel is definitely worth its price. I am certain that one day I will return here. I highly recommend it, as this is a place where you can truly relax and feast your eyes on the beauty of nature.

Probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The location is stunning, surrounded by beautiful and expertly tended gardens, with views over turquoise seas, lush islands and mangroves. The staff are so friendly, helpful and welcoming, they’re so kind and will||anticipate your requirements. The food is varied and delicious. About a 10 minute walk up the beaches is some fantastic snorkelling right off the beach (the lodge can provide flippers and snorkels and a canoe if you need). There were barely any bugs. No a/c (which for me is a bonus), but we were comfortably cool below our fan at night. Lemurs in the local village a 3 minute walk away. Cocktails were delicious and wine was good quality and both were reasonably priced. An afternoon breeze of about 15kts kicked in most days, perfect if you’ve brought your wingfoil/big kite kit with you. The day trips to snorkel or around the island I thought were quite expensive (though we didn’t do any as the snorkelling by the hotel was enough for me and we’d already done some trekking), I’m sure they’d be well run, but if you think you’ll want to do them then worth factoring this in before you go. We were lucky enough to stay in the cottage at the top of the hill. It was breathtaking. I normally get antsy to go and windsurf or scuba or anything after a few days, but Tsara Komba is so relaxing I could chill very contentedly on our veranda, on the beach or on the platforms all day, every day, forever. A perfect end to our honeymoon!

I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 night stay at Tsara Komba and was sad to leave by the end of it. The location was really one of my absolute favourites of any hotel I've been to - it's an extremely special place, with the added benefit of offering you the chance to see several different types of lemur (my highlight: the absolutely incredible mouse lemur we found in Lokobe!) The beach is beautiful, and the water the perfect temperature. ||||The staff was absolutely fantastic (especially Giovanni who was kind enough to show me his lovely village and his beautiful home, offer me some bananas to feed to the lemurs, as well as taking me on a great excursion to Nosy Sakatia to swim with the giant turtles). And the food was really excellent, as were the many delicious fruit juices. ||||That said, there were too many small nuisances for me to rate it 5 stars. The booking process was a real pain, with the same card I've been using to book 3+ months of travel repeatedly rejected and no alternative method offered to pay. Easily the biggest issue though is the lack of AC - I found it so hot at night that sleeping was a challenge, and the fans really didn't do much at all. Combined with constant molestation by mosquitos and seemingly ineffective repellent offered by the hotel (which was strangely difficult to spray as well), I had some pretty sleepless nights. I do think for the high price that AC/Wifi/a bath tub in the room ought to be provided (there is only Wifi in the main area). A bath would've been really great to cool off before bed. If these pretty basic amenities were offered (which I really think they should be - there are hotels at 1/5th the price in Madagascar that offer these things), then I would go back to Tsara Komba in a heartbeat (and probably for a longer stay).||||My room (2), didn't offer a lot of privacy unless you closed all the shutters as it was right by the main restaurant area, so I'd recommend getting one of the rooms directly on the beach. There are only 8

Just returned from an amazing 5 night stay at this lux ecolodge. Nava and her team do a spectacular job of taking care of guests and ensuring guests have a memorable stay. |At just 8 villas this property is intimate, well maintained and serene. |Villas are spacious and have spectacular views. We spent so much time laying on our veranda admiring the landscape.|The ocean’s clear blue waters are wonderful for swimming and snorkeling and a beautiful beach provides a relaxing space to sun and marvel at your surroundings.|Meals offer a high quality and variety of options, all featuring fresh produce and fresh caught seafood.|This was our first time staying at an ecolodge and I think it enhanced the experience because it made you feel more connected to the surroundings. |Visitors with mobility issues may want to note that there are lots of stairs as the property is nestled in the side of a mountain.
