Went in nervous because of how French administration is notoriously difficult to deal with, but it was very pleasant. I arrived slightly before my 9:30am appointment. Had to leave my tiny bottle of hand sanitizer at the front desk — you can’t bring perfumes either. I showed my appointment letter to the guard + reception, and proceeded to the waiting room. At around 9:30am, I was called to a second waiting room. A nice lady asked for my passport, French telephone number, and a bunch of other questions (eg if I had social security, whether I was pregnant). She asked me in English even though I said I could speak some French. It was appreciated though. At around 9:50am I was called in to the nurse’s office. Did an eye checkup (with prescription glasses on), answered a few questions. At around 9:55am I was directed to a waiting alley with seats. At around 10am I was called to see the doctor — a very kind lady. I showed her my vaccination records and she recommended some places for me to go to get non-mandatory shots. She listened to my lungs (good thing I had zip-up layers on), asked me some questions about my family medical history, and I was done. I waited a short time to get my two certificates (one for préfecture, another for intéressé) stamped by doctor + reception. I left the centre at 10:30am. Thank you 🙏🏻
I feel like govt admin offices usually get low stars and bad reviews by default, so I just want to provide my two cents in case it helps anyone in the same situation - mainly new residents in France. I went to this location today for my first ever OFII meeting - the medical exam for new residents. My appt was at 3pm, I arrived around 2:45pm, and was immediately helped. It wasn’t crowded at all, but there were a few people before me going thru what looked like the same process. Everyone from the security guard to the front desk to the doctors were all very pleasant to deal with even though I spoke English. The process was very easy and efficient, and I was out of there by 3:45pm. Friendly reminder. Don’t forget your passport, or the document detailing your visit, or your vaccination record. I think that’s basically all I had to show at the visit. & don’t forget to get the certificates stamped when you leave. The last doctor will give you two documents - one is for yourself and the other is for the prefecture when you go to renew your VLS-TS.
It feels a little odd to rate an official medical centre, but since some people may find reviews helpful (especially newcomers unfamiliar with the system), I’d like to share my experience. My appointment was scheduled for 9:30, but I arrived just a bit earlier. The guards were nice. I delivered the notification paper (la présente convocation) and my passport to the reception desk (the lady was courteous) before heading to the waiting room. At 9:50, my name was called along with a few others. The official (a very, very kind lady) asked if anyone didn’t speak French and then explained everything clearly. Around 10:05, I was given an optional mental health questionnaire to fill out. About 15 minutes later, I saw the nurse, who asked for basic details (birthday, height, weight) and checked my eyesight. Then I was guided to the X-ray room. By 10:24, everything was done. Only five minutes later, I met my doctor (THE BEST——I wish I had him in Paris). I left the centre at 10:50. NB: Don’t forget to have your certificate stamped. Greatly thank all the staff for their kindness, efficiency and hard work.
I have been 2 times to this center. The first time was a bit off. I didn’t feel very welcome and directed well for the process at first but the lady who checked my file was very nice and warm. Thanks to her. So, it was like 50% ok. The second time was for the medical exam. It was totally smooth and all staffs were warm and kind from start to end of the process (even though I speak little french) ✌️
I don't know why so many people gave it one star. But in my experience, all the staff there were incredibly helpful and kind. Although the schedule given in the letter and the actual schedule were different, their service was extraordinary. 🤩 The OFII staff and the medical staff were very friendly and helpful. 🌸 Thank you 🤩
Great experience! Everything went really fast. Receptionist and doctors were super friendly, helpful and kind. We even exchanged some funny jokes. Advice: bring your passport, arrive on time and smile. Sometimes a simple smile can make a big difference✨ As for the x-ray and blood tests, not everyone has to do it. Only some countries. But even if your country is in a safe/green zone, you still can do the tests if you are curious to know the results. Wear some clothes and shoes that are easy to take off. Maybe a cardigan/sweater on buttons, etc. They have a clean toilet there! With toilet paper of course. Firstly, they check your passport, a summon notice, and see what’s inside your bag at the entrance. Then the receptionist will search for your name in the documents. Once it’s done you will wait a bit on the chair. Then a nurse will give you a questionnaire to evaluate your psychological condition. There are some questions about panic attacks, OCD, anger issues, fears, PTSD, substance abuse, etc. The replies are either “yes” or “no”. Super easy and quick. Bring your own pen. Or you can use theirs too. Just return it back. Then the first doctor (who is really fun and friendly) will check your height and weight. And the second doctor (also very friendly and kind) in another room will check your blood pressure and listen to your lungs/heartbeat with a device. Nothing special, just general procedure. You will have a small talk and that’s it. Done. If you’re a female, you will have a female doctor obviously. The doctor gives you 2 documents stating that you passed the medical examination. Go to reception and stamp these documents. SAVE THEM!!!! You will need these documents later for many reasons!!! It took me maybe 20-30 minutes to finish everything. Fast and efficient. Thank you!❤️❤️❤️
To be quiet honest, I was very anxious about my appointment after reading the reviews here but I’ll share my honest experience this morning. My situation is a bit complex because my document was transferred from Lyon to Paris and some miscommunication happened between both OFII offices. When I arrived the office this morning here didn’t have my name among other people’s documents and yet the front desk lady was so sweet and got me seated and tried to look into the issue as I showed her emails I had received. I then spoke to someone else who said they can do the test but will mail me the certificate instead of handing it to me as this is not something that gets done in their office. The wait time was fairly short, I then went to a second window to provide my passport and additional screening info and fill a questionnaire, followed by meeting a nurse, then the doctor. Everyone was pleasant to talk to and very professional from the security guard at the door to the last interaction I had with the doctor. I left and literally 30min later they give me a call back to tell me they found my certificates and I can come back and pick them up. I wanted to make sure I write this comment here because I see a lot of negativity and people forget sometimes to share their positive feedback. I would’ve put a 5 stars if my certificates were there at the time of arrival, but the front reception lady still handled the situation in a very good and friendly manner.
10/10 experience. I was a bit nervous coming in, after reading the comments here, but from the beginning to the start it was a very positive experience. From the front desk lady to the nurses and doctors everybody was so helpful and kind. My French is around A2- the moment they saw me struggling they immediately switched to speaking in English. Thank you so much for your help and making this experience very positive for me
