Avis
My parents stayed here as they were attending a wedding nearby, and they were very well looked after. Fantastic service, they were given a very warm welcome. Nothing was too much trouble, and all staff were very extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend.
How many times have you seen a restaurant owner coming in and greeting every guest one by one so everybody feels important and welcomed? Us neither. But in Restaurant de l’Ours it seems perfectly normal. It’s a shiny example of a family-ran business where all the workers are truly its members.||||The hotel was very comfortable and cosy, extremely quiet which was a pleasant surprise. We didn’t spend much time there though. The definite highlight was the restaurant and that was the place we wanted to hang out in.||||We both enjoyed some great wine and delicious, fresh salads but the best was about to come. Coulommiers is famous for their local cheese therefore we couldn’t miss the chance to taste it. We enjoyed the tartiflette usually prepared with Reblochon cheese but here replaced by the local kind.
We did not stay here but we had an evening meal on 14th July and we really enjoyed it. The menu was quite short but with good choices and the food was delicious and home cooked. I had an excellent, tender steak and my husband had duck. The accompaniments were well matched to the dishes and the portions were generous. Desserts were great. I had a delicious chocolate fondant with cherry sorbet and John had an amazing Mojito sundae with mint and lemon sorbets and rum. We also had some of the local Coulommiers cheese which was top notch. This hotel has mixed reviews for its accommodation and I cannot comment on that but the food was good. Service was polite, efficient and attentive and the dining room is attractive. Don't be put off by the somewhat unpromising exterior.
This hotel is not what Americans expect, my room was nice and minimalist just as I like it, had issues with the bathroom but it didn't matter this isn't the Ritz, this is a typical French country hotel. 5 min. walk to the train station. The manager and housekeeping were very helpful and super nice. As soon as get next year's vacation dates set, I am going back and hopefully will get the same room on the top floor with courtyard view.
A group of seven men stayed here on their way further south on holiday and I cannot recommend the staff at the hotel highly enough. Nothing was too much trouble and they took everything in their stride. One guest even left his keys behind and the lovely Florence posted them back to the UK for no cost. Lovely little find, can't recommend highly enough. Thank you.
We had a bit of a mix up with dates, totally my fault, and the staff were so amazing and accommodating. Really helpful. The room was nice and it was a great place to stay in a sleepy quaint French town.
We stayed in this hotel for a night and ate in the restaurant with a friend. The three of us had a really good meal. We all had the lemon marinaded salmon that melted in the mouth followed by the tete de veau, pork and scallops. The sallops, that so many chiefs overcook, were perfect.||Overall, superb cooking at a reasonable price (88 euros for the three of us including wine).
this was a very good hotel. We stayed for 3 days and after the final day our car broke down and the hotel owner really helped us out and fixed it for us. Very nice people
