I have been meaning to write since we returned from our trip. Paris was the first stop on our extended European vacation and Hotel Raphael was my favorite hotel of them all. The hotel itself, although small and intimate, had a grand royal feeling to it. The room was SUPER comfortable and huge! Room for everything without feeling crowded. Even down to the detail having the built in chargers for phones was so handy. The bathroom was also super spacious. The room was quiet and so easy to sleep, comfortable bed. The staff was so helpful, particularly the concierge staff, and Taner, who went above and beyond. When I messed up our train time, he helped us get the cab and explained to the driver the sensitivity of getting us on our way quickly. He also went out of the way to retrieve items left behind in our haste, and made arrangements to get them to our next hotel. The location was wonderful to walk to everything and the breakfast was delicious. I could not recommend this hotel enough.
This hotel has incredibly spacious rooms - ours had a view of the Eiffel Tower and a bottle of champagne on ice by the window. It felt old school Paris in the best possible way - I don’t need to go to France for austere minimalism. We had lovely draperies, beautiful bedding and a flowers on arrival. In an age when one often finds rooms with just showers, this hotel had a huge marble bathtub with a stained glass window in the ceiling. The bar is a dreamy red velvet cocoon - perfect for martinis - and breakfast is served in an elegant dining room with large windows. The piece de resistance is the old fashioned wooden elevator. (Having said that I didn’t see the rooftop bar as we went in February and I imagine it is lovely too.) The concierge was accommodating and helpful, as were all the staff. As for the location you are steps from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Élysées. Over the years I have learned to manage my expectations in Parisienne hotels but no longer as we will 100 per cent return to the Raphael from now on. This is a hotel for a romantic weekend, just beware: it’s so hard to leave the hotel you might not see much of Paris!
Wow. When people ask for the best place to stay in Paris, this will be our recommendation. The Hotel Raphael is everything you want and need in the City of Light. A beautiful, old-style Parisian opulence, with all the modern amenities one needs. The rooms are spectacular, comfortable, and very well air conditioned...the common areas are lovely, and the staff is professional, friendly, and helpful. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in their elegant restaurant, as well as glasses of champagne (coupes) in the intimate bar. The rooftop bar features spectacular views of the Eiffel Tower. The location is perfect: steps away from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Éysées, and literally yards away from a Metro station. We will definitely return.
I booked this room for one night after making a mistake with my travel dates to Paris and realizing I was short a hotel for my first night. This hotel was very pricy- over 450 Euros for one night for one of the simpler rooms- but I figured hey, it’s just one night and why not. Check in was fast and easy, our room was ready right away. I thought the room would be bigger, but nonetheless it was nice and I loved the windows on either side. Unfortunately we were so tired from our overnight flight and the time change that we slept most of our stay. We were not able to see the rooftop or the dining area. The lobby of the hotel was very nice and clean, and I loved the clear glass elevator. The best part was that the Arc de Triumph was right down the block. When we finally woke up it was closed, but we were still able to walk around it which was nice. The Eiffel Tower and YSL museum are also within walking distance. I would say this is in a prime location for many activities and the staff is friendly and courteous.
I stayed in a suite. It had a nice regal, historic feel to it. Plus we had a very good view of the Eiffel Tower, and the Arch was within easy walking distance. The front desk and concierge service were top notch. They treated me and my teenage son like VIPs.
The staff were friendly and responsive. The concierge staff was especially kind. We are sorry that we couldn't thank him when we left. He was talking to other guests but was nice enough to greet us with eye contact. Many other guests were also elegant and classy, creating a pleasant atmosphere in the historic, beautiful building. Paris is not always nice to Asian tourists, but in this hotel, we felt very comfortable and welcomed.
Great location in Paris. The hotel was within walking distance to great shopping, dining, Eiffel Tower, and the Arc de Triomphe to name a few attractions. Our room was large with plenty of storage. The room itself is a bit dated and in need of an update but overall was clean and comfortable. The roof top dining area was fantastic with views and food that are hard to beat. At times staff seemed overwhelmed/busy but overall were courteous and willing to help. Great way to start our France trip.
We went there for a romantic trip but it turned into a horrible trip. We checked in at 9:30 am and first the recepion man took an amount as a deposit but I never saw the amount (600€). After that, he told us to check in around 3pm but we waited until 3:20 until the room was ready. |When finally we could get into our room (409) the shower was not working good, warm water turned into cold water and vice versa. Furthermore the water kept blocked into the shower and one towel was dirty. Also I had ordered flowers and a note for my girlfriend and it was not in the room. In adition, the room was super noisy. |Of course we claimed for this because it can not happen in a 5* hotel. They offer us to move to another room for one night, and then move again to our room. We agreed it. The room was so nice, with terrace and good views (5th floor). The next morning we moved to our room, we checked the shower and the problem was still there. There was no solution they told us. Of course we did not want to move anymore but it's not nice from the team.|It's a shame that our romantic trip became so complicated. Finally, I can not recommend this hotel.
