We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 3 adult family members. |We had a nightmare on arrival as we were delayed past the closing of reception at 8pm. We attempted to contact them prior to this with no response and had to go to the tour company. We were not given any instructions about late arrival despite phoning everywhere , and only by chance found a box outside with some details for late arrivals. The instructions were only in French!!!!! And it was tortuous trying to work out how to find our ridiculously tight parking space, ski locker, and room in this giant maze of a complex with the instructions given !!! The lack of reception on a transfer night is unacceptable. What 4 star hotel has so much time when there is Zero reception? After 8 pm you cannot get any help whatsoever even if there is an issue/problem in your room. |The polished concrete slope and entrance to the car park is treacherous with ice and they don't bother to salt it. |The apartment was clean, and attractive, the kitchen well equipped, but the space everywhere is unbelievably tight for a 4 star hotel with very inadequate storage in every room. You can only just shuffle around the beds . Most of the limited storage in the double bedroom was taken up with spare bedding. A horrible draught from the velux directly above the beds and instructions about use on the wall bearing no resemblance to the situation. |The WiFi is non existent. | The welcome gift was very nice but arrived 3 days after we did, that being our first contract from hotel staff. Bathroom had a tile missing and the combi oven didn't function properly as a microwave and poured a lot of heat into the room when used as a trad oven and very inefficient to cook with. |The communal heating is OK if you are happy with 21 degrees. |The views from our apartment were great, we were on the top floor facing the right way ,but others not so lucky. |The spa is not what one would expect with a sadly very cold swimming pool and only 2 small lu
Very nice and big rooms. Everything you need for a week is available in the appartment. Also bed sheets, towels, bathrobes,.. Only minus point is the heating. It is fixed at 21°C. No problem for me, but for some family members too cold. Also the swimming pool could use a few degrees more. Further, ski-in-ski-out is rather difficult. You have to cross one street by foot. Nevertheless, overall, very nice accomodation, despite a few minus points
Our apartment was amazing. Very large, and the view was incredible. Spa was nice too. Clean. Staff friendly. Welcome gifts and plenty of toilet paper, dishwasher tablets etc. Only downside is the walk to slopes instead of being ski in ski out, but the walk is only 5mins to be fair.
Amaaaaaazing hotel and staff! We stayed at the end of the ski season and it was very calm at the resort. We had a beautiful spacious room with an amazing view of the mountains. It’s well located near the slopes and there is a ski rental just next to the resort. The wellness area is also incredible. A thanks to the staff for making our one week stay as comfortable as possible. Hope to come back!
We had a very enjoyable stay at L'Alpaga and I would have given 4 stars but for some issues. We booked the apartment because the residence has a Spa. However the swimming pool was so cold that we could not use it. In fact only a very few hardy people used it whilst we were there. It was pretty empty most of the time. The hot tubs were not hot and not even warm really. We did go in but got out very quickly as the temperature was too low to enjoy. The heating in our room was controlled by a thermostat that you cannot alter. We did complain that the temperature at 21C was too cold for us and they did change it.|The staff a very friendly and very helpful. Bread delivery worked fine. |We had a two bedroom apartment with two bathrooms and it was very comfortable. However smaller bedroom had a very small wardrobe. You are supposed to be able to sleep 6 in the aprtment but there is no way that this would work due to lack of storage and comfortable seating.|You cannot ski out from the apartments and have to walk out of the ski locker room at the back of the apartments, walk up a slope and then walk up the road from the hotel. At the top of the road you cross over the main road and then walk down and to the left pass a couple of chalets to get on the slopes. A bit of an inconvenience but fine if you are fit. Distance in total is about 200 metres. You can ski back by sking to the road, take your skis off and cross the road and put them back on and then you can ski straight back to the ski locker room. Note though that the blue run back gets very beaten up when the snow is slushy and it is more comfortable to get the bus back and walk 20 metres up the road and then put your skis on to ski back.|Just down the road is a restaurant called La Cotes Du Bois. This is a super restaurant and very reasonably priced. We ate there twice during our stay and would highly recommend it.
Great accommodation but let down by some minor things. It claims to be 4* accommodation but isn't. |For example, the heating in the room is centrally controlled so, never goes above 21 degrees. In the bedrooms there are window vents that mean there is a constant stream of cold air. Also, if we can't control the room temps, how do you dry skiing equipment (socks, gloves, etc) for the next day?|The wifi is awful. It regularly drops during the day so, repeatedly trying to log on or end up using data. In 2025, there should be great wifi, as standard.|Every little thing seems to be an extra charge. We were there for 1 week, 3 people. To get a change of towels was Euros10 each. There are no separate pool towels, unless you pay extra. If you want a midweek apartment clean it's Euros80. |It is also worth noting, the hotel is at top of a hill. The bus stops at 7pm so, unless you fancy a walk in the snow/dark it can be quite isolated at night. The ski bus should run until later in the night
Me and my cousin Zoe stayed here for a week during Janurary. The room was great, however, the reception couldn't be more useless! One lady didn't want to help us book a taxi to get home so we were stuck and when we asked about chage for the pool table they didn't care and said they had no change. No change for a hotel, right...... |Another thing to mention, when you leave you have to take everything with you (spare toilet roll, empty your own bins etc) otherwise you will be heavily charged! |Definitely not a 4* hotel service but the facilities were good.
5 of us stayed in one of the 6 person duplex apartments for a week. Really lovely apartment - one double bedroom with an en suite shower room upstairs, one twin room, another shower room, 2 toilets, lounge/kitchen area with a sofa bed. Sofa bed is separated into 2 twin beds which wasn’t ideal for the one person staying on it. Overall very comfy cosy chalet. We cooked in a few nights - facilities were good although the power did cut out twice whilst we were cooking.|Balcony with an amazing view of the mountains. Location close to ski slopes but you have to trek up a bit of a hill to get to slopes. You can ski all the way back though which was good. |Parking was good we had a van over 2 metres high and we fit in the underground parking - you can pre book a space.|Pool and spa facilities were great to have, lots of options but very busy as everyone goes after a day on the slopes. You only get your standard shower towel, not separate spa towels/robes but I think maybe you can ask for them at reception - we didn’t so unsure. |Would say the whole chalet area felt a bit like a maze got lost a couple of times but after a few days we figured out where everything was. We were staying in Chalet Sirius but the ski locker for our chalet was in Chalet Orion which was on the other side of the chalet complex so not ideal (only seemed to be our chalet that had this). |You can order bread and pastries each evening for the next morning which get delivered to your room. Very friendly helpful staff. |Overall we had a really nice stay here and would recommend.
