Excellent family-run hotel with fantastic staff that go above and beyond. Our expectations weren't overly high: a reasonably priced no-frills hotel close to the slopes. These were met and exceeded throughout our stay. Rooms are simple but spotlessly clean. Great breakfast with the locally sourced products a really nice touch. Complimentary cakes and snacks in the bar during the afternoon unexpected but very well received! All members of staff were friendly, with great local knowledge and willingness to help. Noticeably proud of the hotel and working hard to maintain high standards!

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was good and well organized.||The location is excellent, the ski lift is only about 100 meters away and you can ski directly back to the hotel. This makes it very convenient.||The rooms are simple, which is exactly what you expect from a two-star hotel. They were clean and comfortable enough for a ski/snowboard vacation.||The only two minor downsides. The bed was quite short for me (191 cm). I understand that beds abroad are often shorter and I am used to that, but this one was especially short. Also, the room could use some better finishing, for example a damaged tile and an empty wine bottle left on top of the wardrobe. However, this did not really bother me for a two-star hotel.||Overall, this is a good hotel with a great location, friendly staff and great value for money. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This was my second stay at this lovely little hotel, and once again it exceeded expectations. Although it may officially be rated as a 2-star, the level of care and attention you receive feels much closer to a 3-star experience.||I mentioned in advance that it was my 40th birthday, and the team went out of their way to make it special by upgrading my room and leaving a thoughtful bottle of bubbles waiting for me – such a kind and personal touch.||The staff are all genuinely warm and welcoming, creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere throughout the stay. It’s these little details that really make a difference.||Breakfast each morning is fantastic, with plenty of choice and great quality, and the afternoon cake after skiing is such a treat – exactly what you need after a day on the slopes.||The location is ideal if you prefer a quieter setting, away from the busiest part of the resort, yet it’s incredibly convenient with a ski lift right next door that gets you onto the slopes in no time.||Overall, a charming, comfortable hotel that goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. I’ll definitely be returning again.

Spring 'lads' ski trip (40-50 somethings) for March '26 and booked several individual rooms at the Hotel De La Valentin with Crystal based on price and location. ||Pros - Virtually ski in ski out location (conditions permitting), very close proximity to Belle Etoille lift / ski school meeting point and easy poma lift / green run access to and from the Valle Blanche. Warm, spacious and convenient boot room, friendly and accommodating staff (Louisa), comfortable beds, easy proximity to town and restaurants / bars||Cons - Lots of stairs (no lift), tasty but slightly limited breakfast, showers cramped and lacklustre (would have loved a bath to soak in). . .first world problems in reality!||Overall an excellent Hotel and perfect for a weeks skiing - would happily return in the future . . .

I had a fantastic week staying at Hotel De La Valentin.. the room quality is of a very high standard, the food quality and quantity at breakfast was very good, the staff are very friendly I can recommend this hotel as the perfect base for skiing and the mountains, and a lovely home from home, thank you team Valentin!! bravo I’d come back again and recommend to family and friends.

We stayed two weeks in the hotel which is really well located close to the lifts and slopes. Staff are wonderful, super helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. Breakfast is very copious with local produces. Will be back!

We booked this hotel based on (a) cost and (b) its previous Trip Advisor reviews (which I still don’t get). There is good and bad with the hotel:||||GOOD||It was in a decent location ||It was well heated||It was clean||||BAD||The room was very very very small with a useable space (excluding the corridor) of about 9 sq m.||The bathroom was equally tiny.||Both bedroom and bathroom very very basic ||The reviews said the staff were friendly but we didn’t find them friendly at all (except the breakfast staff) It wasn’t that they were particularly unfriendly just not very friendly or forthcoming.||No lift so dragging heavy suitcases up to the top floor not easy. ||Choice at breakfast quite poor and the eggs and bacon almost inedible. ||||In summary, the hotel does advertise itself as two star so in fairness isn’t trying to be something it’s not but I just don’t get the previous reviews - it’s not a terrible place at all it’s just very average.
