Avoid at all costs! I was a returning guest for a couple of years because I came once a month for business in the region. Please note this is written in the past sense. The hotel offered my a couple of years ago the following arrangement (Also note: they proposed this themselves!): they'd call me each month to see if I'd come: yes or no. In all these years, I maybe once didn't come and warned them about that. Otherwise, I always stayed here. A couple of months ago they forgot my reservation. Well, shit happens and I didn't make a fuss about it. Tonight this unfortunately happened for the second time. The lady at the desk tried to put the blame in my shoes, only gave a half hearted excuse and offered no solution at all for a regular guest. This is not the way to deal with loyal guest. I've always been polite and kind with the staff, always took dinner in their restaurant too. In return, I get this. I'm a female solo traveller, far from home, do you want me to sleep in the parking lot? I normally don't write bad reviews because I know from personal experience how harmful these can be, but now I had to. It is really a pity, Brit hotel le cottage, but I won't come back to any of your hotels due to this event and I won't hestitate to tell other travellers about this.

Good place if you plan to attend an event at Le Mans Bugatti, it's at 7-10min drive to the track. The restaurant is very good.

Our second stay here on our way to Nice from Cherbourg with our two dogs. As was the case last year, staff very helpful and our dog-friendly room was perfect for our needs, at a very reasonable price.||Last year we arrived too late for dinner, and to be honest we weren’t expecting too much when we came into the restaurant. We changed our opinion after vegetable crumble and rillettes to start, followed by sea bass and tournedos of sea bream, washed down by a very nice bottle of Muscadet. ||There is a small park nearby which is good for walking the dogs before bedtime. Despite being near a road, the hotel is very quiet.||A perfect place for a stop-over, we will be back again next year.

Excellent hotel for its location, comfort and service. Rooms are clean and bed was really comfortable. We had a meal in the restaurant and the food was delicious. All staff were friendly and helpful. They spoke English which helped us. The only minor drawback was not kettle in the room but we ordered hot drinks at the bar. Also there’s a hot chilled water station near reception area serving sparkling, still and hot water very useful. We would stay again and do thoroughly recommend.

We stayed at Brit Hotel in March. The hotel has an elevator and a wheelchair ramp, making it accessible. The receptionist’s English proficiency is about a 7/10, but check-in was fast and efficient. The hotel is clean and features some modern design choices, though a few are unusual. For example, there are no toilet paper rolls—instead, there are paper sheets to pull out. Also, finding the light switch in the shower was tricky. The room is small, with low ceilings and a tiny bathroom. However, the interior design is inspired by Le Mans motorsport, which gives it a unique and dynamic feel. There is also a shoe-cleaning machine, which is a nice touch. The hotel offers a large, fenced parking lot, which feels safe and secure. Outside, there is a beautifully landscaped garden, making for a pleasant walk. The restaurant is available, with affordable prices and plenty of seating. 📌 Overall Rating: 9/10 – A clean and well-maintained hotel with good facilities. The small room size and some design quirks might not suit everyone, but the Le Mans-inspired decor and secure parking make it a solid choice.

We chose this instead of the Campanile as we’d found the restaurant to be very good on a prior visit. The hotel doesn’t look much from the outside but it is modern and well fitted within. The room was comfortable and slightly larger than I’d expected and checkin was very rapid.||First visit to this chain but won’t be the last.

Staying at the nearby B&B hotel this is one of 3 eateries within 10 minutes walk, otherwise you need to take a car. This one looked the best of the 3 with a decent menu and several "formules". The staff are very welcoming and the ambiance is good, with plenty of tables occupied, just too much lighting, very bright. There is (if you want) a starters buffet and a dessert buffet, indeed there is a formula where you can have just the 2 for a very reasonable price. There are also various combinations of normal dishes with or without the buffets. The starter buffet, all cold is large and varied, with lots of fish, cold meats and salads. All of decent quality, just too much dressing with the salads. The shellfish is not fantastic, but the rest is generally very good. The steak I had was very tasty and tender with a nice peppercorn sauce. It came with the inevitable chips, quite good ones, more like English chips than French fries. Dessert buffet of mixed quality, some very good, some rather indifferent, but a wide choice. Good value for money, generally good quality, good service, but not gastronomic if that's what you're looking for. Perfect if you're staying nearby and need somewhere close to eat.

One approaches the Brit Hotel through tawdry suburbs of Le Mans, via very busy dual carriageways featuring lots of ugly industrial buildings, advertising hoardings and general tat. The first time I visited, I have to say that I said out loud to myself, "What on earth have I done?!"||||From the dual carriageway, the hotel building looks quite Soviet, and there's another hotel and a restaurant very close by with a similar, total lack of architectural appeal.||||But suddenly, one is driving along a little green and leafy lane, along the shores of a substantially sized, man-made lake that is completely surrounded by trees and features a beach. The Brit has a large, safe car-park and is nicely landscaped, with quite an effort being made at the front to mitigate the otherwise awful architecture. And it sort of works.||||The rooms are clean and air-conditioned. Fabrice, (the owner/manager?) is very friendly, and quite a character! He and his charming wife run a tight ship. The staff are very helpful indeed, though their English generally is poor. Rates are reasonable and there is a well-stocked bar. Dinner is generally OK, but that's all. But the lunchtime buffet is fabulous, and very well priced at €16 per head.||||So if you're planning a visit to this area, I'd say, don't let first impressions put you off. The Brit isn't luxury, but then it doesn't aspire to be. For us, it does what it says on the tin, and that's all we need.
