We visited Ambronay Abbey and had a peaceful, enriching experience. The abbey was quiet, allowing us to take our time and fully appreciate the ambiance of this well-preserved historical site. The architecture is stunning, featuring elements from the 10th, 13th, and 15th centuries, including a beautiful gothic cloister and fortified towers. The rich history of the abbey, which dates back to its founding under Charlemagne, is palpable as you explore its serene grounds. The location is perfect for a contemplative visit, and the tranquility of the surroundings adds to the charm. A great spot for those interested in history and architecture.
Nice church, quiet visit. A lot of panels to explain. And the cloitre is simple but in very good state
We enjoy every year attending "Le Festival d'Ambronay" with good long time friends.
Charming genuine historic areo to visit. Each year a really amazing jazz and classic festival takes place there.
Out of the way and beautiful. Wonderful late medieval architecture and cloister (central courtyard). Cool when it is hot outside.
