Avis

5.0 Enjoy life

Great place located in the heart of a valley between Saint-Menet and Les Camoins in Marseille's 11th arrondissement. This château, set apart from the city center, was once located in the countryside. Today, it is surrounded by the magnificent Parc des Sept Collines (Seven Hills Park). Made famous by Marcel Pagnol's novel, "Le Château de ma mère", it has become a comprehensive cultural center, now housing a media library and exhibition spaces. Renovated in 2011, it features a splendid, old-fashioned cinema where you can consult archives and rare film documents. The second floor offers a reconstruction of a classroom from 100 years ago ...

It was very interesting to explore the Château itself and its current exhibition on Steven Spielberg. The parc around it seems to be suffering a bit with the 2023 drought, and it looks like it's in need of some help. There's good potential to be exploited, but they might not have the budget to do so.

5.0 Phil Wood

Great day out, we took the kids to see Toy story there, really nice not too loud, not too many people, nice staff. Nice walk around the grounds after the film. The Cafe is good as well, not expensive.

5.0 LK

Nice place, we liked everything. We got to the exhibition about cinematography.

5.0 Kurt McClung

What a beautiful place to see a concert or expo. It’s full of history from the writer Pagnol’s attempt a create a French Hollywood, broken up by WWII ! Check it out if you have time and a car when in marseille!

5.0 Jean-Louis DIDOMENICO

This Castle was used by Marcel Pagnol, to write the novel "Le Château de ma mère". Awesome to be reminded of that book.
