If you head out of Les Sables d’Olonne along the coast towards Talmont St Hilaire you will come across the Puits d’Enfer - the wells of hell! There is a large car park on the side of the road and you can walk just a few meters to wards the edge where you will see the waves crashing against the granite cliffs - try to arrive at high tide for the best effect. Please note there are no barriers along the cliffs, so this may not be suitable for young children, or dogs if they are not on a lead.
Beautiful spot to visit! By the way the restaurant across the street was fabulous! 👌
Very impressive rocks, waves splashing into them with great force. There are places to get on top of them but do so at your own risk. Watch out with little children cause there is a high dropoff. It's not very busy and an ideal place to make pictures. There is a very good Italian restaurant nearby. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
Excellent, good walk along beach, ample parking and a very impressive place
A rock formation with the ocean coming through in different areas, lots of tales and mythology about these rock formations.. Interesting, we walked all along the beach to get there, very pleasant walk.
The sea was quiet when we visited today but it is still a beautiful spot and we could imagine how ferocious it could be when the conditions allow
Interesting rock formation near Les Sables d'Olonne, worth the 5-10min detour if you are going south on the coastline.
We visited Puit's d'Enfer at high tide, but not much of a splash.
