A lovely place with a great staff. We hope to return again this year.
We spent a Saturday and Sunday night in the hotel. Our welcome was warm and efficient and the lovely old building was full of charm. Our room was large and fairly well furnished, as was the bathroom. The small pool and garden were nice places to relax and my wife really enjoyed her massage. ||However, even allowing for the fact that COVID had forced changes on breakfast service, this was a disappointment. Breakfast had to be ordered on a form the previous night, and then had to be collected from the kitchen and carried up two flights of stairs to our room. Fair enough under the circumstances. ||I did not expect, in a room costing close to €200 per night to be asked to return the tray to the kitchen. We were also surprised to find that there was no housekeeping, the room was not made up and we had to reuse wet towels. ||On the Sunday, there was no receptionist on duty and we had only been given one entry key, so my wife had to wait on the pavement while I drove the car the 250 yards to the car park and walked back. Neither were we given a breakfast order form, which will delay our planned departure. Disappointing, because these are simple things to get right.
Beautiful decor with a lovely ambience around the place with very welcoming staff that gave us a guide to all the must-see spots. Clean and tidy rooms that fulfilled all our needs. The pool and spa was perfect after a long day of hiking!!
Blown away by such an incredible hotel. Yes the parking is 100m away but who cares when this hotel is so special. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in in my whole life. I will definitely be coming back. Thanks for such a wonderful stay.
BE AWARE!!!! I’m very disappointed with the management team after many calls and a couple of emails and not answer. My husband gifted me for Christmas one night, massage there (good he didn’t paid for the massage in advance) unfortunately I got sick the night before we called them to let them know, and try reschedule even if we had to pay for one more night just to don’t totally lost the money and my gift. It has been almost 3 weeks and not answer from the manager not even a sorry but no sorry, knowing that when my husband did the booking it took them less than 2 days to charge the card. In the email we told them I got a gastroenteritis so it was very difficult for me to actually make it that day. I understand the rules (24h in advance for cancellation) but I didn’t know I was gonna be sick. BUT maybe if they care about costumers and not just money they could change the day to any other.
we only stayed here for one night, but the room we had was huge and well decorated. The whole place has been beautifully and tastefully done and there is a pretty garden with pool and sun beds, plus an indoor pool and spa. We were the only ones staying there so it had a rather solitary feel to it. The staff were pleasant. Breakfast was ok.
We had another wonderful stay at the Couvent. Thanks to all the staff for their very friendly service
I absolutely loved this hotel! Decor was fab, room was amazing, staff were really helpful and extremely friendly! I will defo go back.
