I was unable to get an appointment with my PCP for medical clearance for upcoming surgery. Dr alvarez was able to see me. He was wonderful! He gave me a thorough medical checkup. He was patient, understanding, and went over all the tests I recently had. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a PCP
Dr. Alvarez listened carefully to my concerns and never made me feel judged. He was able to see me while my primary doctor was unavailable, which I greatly appreciated. He was caring, professional, and genuinely seemed invested in helping me. It was a very positive experience.
Respectful office staff and doctors are patient centered. Doctor Alvarez listens patiently and creates a trusting and supportive environment. I never feel rushed during our appointment. He also respects my intelligence and never preaches. Great doctor.
I'm always a bit mystified when I see reviews that are either (1) not about the individual being reviewed or (2) clearly just an effort to vent or express frustration about something relatively trivial. Anyway, here's my review of Dr. Alvarez: he is incredibly bright, unfailingly professional, very easy to interact with, and the most consistently responsive and generous (e.g., with his time during visits) primary care physician I've ever worked with. He asks questions designed to give him a genuinely complete understanding of your health and he engages with you in a dynamic and informed way to consider all available factors or solutions to your health issue. A visit with him is the opposite of a "transaction" -- in my experience, Dr. Alvarez isn't there just to order some tests and authorize your prescription refills, but instead to help you achieve a better understanding of your health, the things affecting it, and the options you have for addressing or improving things. THAT is what a PCP is supposed to do -- simultaneously engage with you for a thorough understanding of your situation and serve as a gateway to any additional resources that might be needed. I have recommended Dr. Alvarez to family members and friends, but I believe he's no longer accepting new patients. If that should change in the future, do yourself a favor and schedule a visit.
He takes the time to listen to your concerns and tells you what we should do next. He is easy to talk to and never in a hurry. You will be happy you tried him.
I found Dr Alvarez to be caring, professional, knowledgeable, and very patient focused. I think he is a fantastic physician. I highly recommend him
Dr. Alvarez was my pcp. He prescribed pills for insomnia that didn’t need to be taken every day. I had a follow-up question and his staff insisted that I needed to take them every day. I told them that the doctor said that was not the case and that we had a conversation about this specific aspect but I never heard back either way. I had to confirm it with a different doctor. He was on vacation the last 3 times I needed to see a doctor which meant I had to see other doctors, including a walk-in clinic doctor that misdiagnosed a sinus infection. Lastly, a specialist said I should get a blood test done through my pcp so I made an appt. 3 weeks out. The day before my appt. Dr. Alvarez’s office called to inform me that he would not see me for this reason because the last time I was there was in 2023!
Incredibly rude receptionist/staff. Canceled previously schedule meeting for no reason and was extremely rude and wouldn’t let me speak.
