Avoid at all costs — a complete disaster This was our first mobile holiday in France, and sadly, it turned into an absolute nightmare. We stayed at this site with two families in separate houses, and both accommodations were filthy upon arrival — dirty floors, grime everywhere, and worst of all, cockroaches in both houses. They were everywhere. It was truly horrifying. Outside wasn’t any better. There was rubbish piled near our house and dog poos all over the camping area. It felt like the cleaning and maintenance services were completely non-existent. While the house itself was decently equipped, the lack of cleanliness ruined everything. This was hands down the worst holiday experience we've ever had. Never again.

Restaurant and bar are ok, but uncomfortable seating and no fans. You bake under the canopy which is not great for trying to achieve midday shade for drinks or lunch. The pool and pool area is ridiculously overcrowded, claustrophobic and loud. You are lucky to gain a sun lounger, and if you do, do not expect to get it with shade. There are a small handful of parasols which give shade yo around 6 loungers out of around 300. The rest of you have to clamber around sporadic trees, and then rotate themselves around other sun lounger’s clinging for shade, as the sun moves throughout the day. The pools are absolutely chockablock full of kids, jumping, splashing, playing, which is great, if your a kid, if not, it just means you will get to swim a yard at most, and forget being able to get in and out if the pool as they hog those too and lol at you either contempt if you dare to ask them to move. |The ferry is great, and good value, but it takes you to a small island with no amenities which is the local dog beach. After arriving on our first day, we stepped off the ferry and were greeted with a pit bull who squirted out diarrhoea, which owner covered with sand and stuck a stick in?!?! The water is stagnant and smelly on the river side. Go to the open sea side where the water is clearer but take beach shoes, it’s hard to get in and out if the sea. |The evening entertainment or lack of is poor. We saw one band in a week, who played some strange elevator music for about an hour. The rest of the week was a bit of music played from a speaker.||The homes are modern and well equipped and we slept well, apart from a monster truck convention in the field next to the park, ||Overall, the site is let down by the pool and the lack of entertainment, we had to leave in the day and the evening as it did not meet our requirements. If you’re using this as a base whilst venturing the south coast great. If not, steer clear.

super camping. the cabins high quality. However, the service at the bar was slow and bad, not the quality you would expect from a ***** camping in the south of france. Unfortunately, the same for the pool, too small for the amount of guests and the staff didn‘t properly clean the toiletts at the pool or the restaurant. If you plan an independent stay in a good mobile home, this is the perfect place for you, if you rely on the onsite service you might be disappointed.

Overpriced and shabby We spent two weeks at the campsite in a "luxury cabin" and are appalled at the standard for this price: - The rented and very expensive wooden house had numerous defects. Neither the bathroom door could be closed nor the drain in the shower worked, so we couldn't even take a shower after driving for over 15 hours. The furniture and interior design was generally worn out. - The floor in the bathroom was so crooked that the water was constantly standing. - The electronic lock on the front door broke and took over a day to be repaired, allowing anyone to enter the cabin. - Empty bottles were piled up on the mini golf course for children and families (!) and were not put away even after days. Overall, the green areas were unkempt. - The barrier at the entrance to the square was broken for days so that everyone could enter the area. Absolutely not appropriate for a supposed 5-star campsite. As a courtesy, we were initially offered a voucher for €100 for our next booking, then offered for less than 10% of the booking price, which was far too high. We have booked various places with Sandaya for several years, but that is not possible!

We just arrived back from our stay at Ecolodge L'Étoile d'Argens. In general we had a good time. The staff were friendly, the environment is relaxed, good kids club and there is easy access to Frejus on a bike, there are however there are a few things to be aware of. Firstly the swimming pool is small for the number of guests with the pool being extremely over crowded by the afternoon, with often no sun lounges available to sit on. Side note, speedos are mandatory which other guests also thought was not ideal. Secondly the kitchen and kids bedroom in our accommodation smelt of urine when we arrived and persisted during our stay which is not what you expect given we paid for a higher priced accommodation. Maybe due to the floor drain and no ventilation fan in the toilet. Thirdly at night the tranquility is ruined by the roaring of monster trucks across the road from the camping. We were even one of the furthest spots from the front of the complex but it was still very loud at night. Lastly the food is vastly overpriced. The food is pretty basic but you easily pay over 120 euros per meal for a family of 4.

We had a rat in our mobile home. The bungalow was not cleaned beforehand, and it was evident that it was a privately owned mobile home rented out by the campsite for some private owners. This meant that the decor and so on were personal, with pictures of the family that normally owned the mobile home.||Additionally, they initially gave us a bungalow that was already rented out to someone else. It was very awkward to knock on “our new” mobile home and ask the people inside if they were also supposed to stay there. They were, so we had to go back to the reception and explain that there must have been a mistake. We were then given another mobile home.||The following night, when we heard rustling from the kitchen, we discovered that there were rats in our mobile home. When we mentioned this to the reception, their first reaction was that since it was a nature site, it could happen, but they would send the man who could remove the rats to our mobile home. We said that we no longer wanted to stay in that mobile home as it was too disgusting to have rats in the kitchen.||At first, we were told that there was nowhere else to stay, so they couldn’t help us. When we insisted on speaking with the manager, they suddenly managed to find another mobile home for us.||The pool area is not suitable for children under 6-7 years old, as the only pool where they can touch the bottom is not warm. It is downright cold, so they don’t play there for long. The other pools are fine and just as they should be.||When we arrived, we bought some food at the restaurant by the pool. The pizza was a frozen pizza, and the salad was also a ready-made salad directly from a factory. Nothing was made in the kitchen; everything was heated in something that resembles a microwave.||Overall, Camping Sandaya L’Étoile d’Argens is far from a 5-star experience, not at all! It is more likely around 2-3 stars.

Almost perfect tenting experience. We were very impressed with the overall planning and organization of the campground, which is reflected in many aspects, including the excellent layout, the beautiful buildings, the friendly service, and the feeling of being surrounded by nature. Nevertheless, the campground is very inaccessible without a car. (Public transport is quite inconvenient, and local taxi services, e.g. Uber, Bolt, are reluctant to travel to the address.) We realize that the park is targeted at families, but given how much travelling to and from the city disrupted our plans, this was definitely a factor. We wondered if, given all the other services provided, some sort of shuttle service (even an infrequent one) might not be a good idea.

Nice camping for families. The lodges are in good condition, everything functioned. The couch is unfortunately not comfortable at all, so lounging or just hanging out in the lodge is not an option. Great pool for kids, nice restaurant, small supermarket and activities nearby.
