Our guide was so kind and helpful and had a lot of patience. We booked the tour starting from 10:30 and it was just us at that time. Recommend if you're ok with having a wine tasting in the noon. The information is great and detailed, wonderfully spoken. Do not hesitate to book!
We had a truly amazing experience. The tasting was 10€ per person, but worth every penny, we got to try almost every variety of their wines, which we found very good and thinking of ordering. Special thanks to the lady who provided this tour for us, she was fluent in French, English and German and was rushing around taking care of 3 different groups, without skipping a bit, very nice and welcoming.
During our visit to Colmar, we drank Domaine Emile Beyer's Pinot Noir from Eguisheim at Maison Rouge restaurant. The following day, we went to Emile Beyer’s tasting room. Their Pinot Noir from Eguisheim is a delightful expression of Alsace, often balancing vibrant fruitiness with a beautiful structure. The wine showcased bright red fruit notes, such as cherry and raspberry, which is characteristic of the region's Pinot Noir. Coupled with a good body and an elegant, well-integrated flavor profile, this wine demonstrates the Beyer family's commitment to crafting Pinot Noir that is both immediately appealing and sophisticated. The family has been making wine there since 1580, and today, they farm their 17 hectares (about 42 acres) using certified organic and biodynamic methods, which really helps their wines express the unique terroir of Eguisheim.
Great family brand in an equally charming village of Eguisheim. Fannie hosted us during this visit, sharing deeply about their family history and experiences, especially in 2021. Do ask about the vineyard markers in their original cellar. Their wines appealed very much to our Asian palate. The Crémant Emile Victor, in particular, we found to be very elegant and smooth. Strongly recommend visiting when you're in Alsace.
We had such a great experience at this wine tasting! For only 15€ per person, we got to try several wines in a small, intimate group setting. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly — she asked whether we preferred dry or sweet wines and customized the tasting accordingly, which we really appreciated. It was fascinating to learn that they handle every step of the process themselves — from caring for the vineyard to producing, cellaring, and selling the wine. You can really tell how much passion and expertise go into what they do. We ended up buying two bottles of our favorites to take home! Highly recommend visiting this place if you’re in the area — it’s an authentic and personal wine experience that’s definitely worth it.
I had a wonderful wine tasting at this well-known wine house in Eguisheim. They started us with a Crémant d’Alsace and moved on to try some of their Rieslings. We began with a Tradition, then a Lieu-Dit, and finally a Grand Cru. It was great to taste and compare the same grape variety at different appellation levels. We were also served a Lieu-Dit Pinot Gris, which was nice to have as a reference on their quality with another grape variety. The staff here is highly competent, knowledgeable and helpful. The place is easily accessible with some seating available. It also seems to be open a little later than most wine houses in town, which was very convenient for us late comers.
They accommodated my last minute change in schedule and Fanny, who attended to us, gave us a meticulous overview of the house’s long history over an hour’s tasting. Very lovely wines and well worth the visit!
Located in the charming village of Eguisheim. Just 30 minutes away from Colmar. We received a warm welcome from Fanny on a cold Monday. We had a total of 6 different wine tastings: Pinot Blanc, Riesling, a blend, Pinot Noir and a cremant. She provided a detailed and structured explanation of the Alsace wine region and then drill down to Eguisheim. It provided us a clear overview. Highly recommended visit if one is in Eguisheim. Educational, interesting and at the same time one gets to enjoy some local wines.
