I think Mazal might be my favourite restaurant that I’ve ever been to. The food is just fantastic and I love how it has an emphasise on fresh produce, it’s unbelievable how good they make the most simple things taste. I’ve been twice and each time the wine was outstanding too. But aside from the food the atmosphere is what sets it apart from any other restaurant, dinner here is a party. They actively encourage dancing on the bar by the end of the night if you take the second sitting. It’s the most fun you’ll ever have in a restaurant.
A big disappointment! We wanted to celebrate our last evening in Bordeaux and we thought it’s going to be a perfect choice. We were wrong. The interior of the place looked amazing, and our hopes were high. The moussesls were far from fresh and left a sour aftertaste. After telling that to the waiter, we were ignored and he simply took away the dish from us - we expected more from a restaurant which tries to give you a top food experience. However, the baked cauliflower was really nice and we would recommend trying it. To sum up, I wouldn’t come back. The prices were too high from what we have received. We paid €70 for free dishes out of which just one was decent.
Delicious food in an amazing ambiance! They have surprise menus for groups above 4 people, which is great if you’re celebrating with friends. The cuisine is mostly french with a middle eastern touch. Service is top level. Big shout out to Louise who made the best cocktails and provided really top service. Definitely a must do whenever in Bordeaux.
This was my second visit, coming back to Bordeaux after a year. I was so excited to go back after the first experience but this time, it was quite lack lustre. The food was ok, just not great. The cauliflower dish wasn’t great, but the broccolini was fine. Nothing bad or wrong with the place. But the food wasn’t great as last time and the place was a bit quiet for a Thursday night in Bordeaux.
What a great surprise this was! We were staying in an airbnb nearby and wondering the streets looking for a restaurant… The chef was speaking to his staff on the street before they opened at 7:30pm. We were first in the door and able to sit at the bar facing the kitchen (thanks for accommodating the lack of reservations and pre-planning). The food was amazing! There are a lot of restaurants in the area, some incredibly busy happy hours with the rugby matches. This was a gem! What a show from the start. An open kitchen is fun to watch and team looked to been a fine Swiss watch. From a US price perspective, so very reasonable!
we came for a late night dessert and a glass of wine. the music turned to a late night 90s hip hop club and we were holding sparklers as if we were celebrating someone’s birthday. the atmosphere was great and we had a delightful evening.
Average. Took long. The chef and server went to smoke outside, leaving the space unattended. I felt like I could do better at home. Lots of better restaurants to be honest.
Delicious food, incredible carpaccio !! And the service was very good (we reserved the 2nd service at 22h30) 👍🏽 sadly we missed the ‘dancing’ part because we left at 00:30 !
