A lovely welcoming Chambre d'hote, furnished in traditional French stylee. Breakfast is Continental with locally sourced foods. There is a wonderful roof terrace where you can relax in the sun or in the solarium where you can make a coffee or purchase an alcoholic drink. L'Orchidee is fairly central in the old section of the village and a short walk from the Canal du Midi

Such a wonderful stay hosted by Margaret and Ian, they couldn’t do enough for us. We were staying for a wedding up at the Château and this was the perfect place for us. Breakfast was wonderful. There is a beautiful little sun terrace that you can sit on. But honestly the best thing about this place is the hosts. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at L'Orchidee for a wedding in the village. Margaret made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and nothing was too much trouble for her. This is a lovely place which has an air of authentic French living, even though Margaret is English. We were able to enjoy the charming village as well as being made to feel able to retreat to the peace and tranquillity of our accommodation when we needed some peace and quiet. The roof terrace and lounge are perfect. We would be happy to recommend this to anyone.

From the moment of arrival Margaret (the owner) was so lovely and helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure we had the best stay we could. So much so we where sad to leave her when our stay came to an end. The house is an 18th century town house with nice spacious rooms, modern bathrooms and an amazing roof terrace that has views over the town and the orchards. The breakfast in the mornings are lovely with pastries, fresh fruit (she has grown herself) and an endless supply of coffee which we all needed! We will 100% be coming back again too, not only to see Ginestas, but to see Margret again!

We had a wonderful stay with Margaret and Ian, a super spacious room with two comfortable single beds. Every little thing has been thought of, even a spare toothbrush which was great as we had forgotten one. It was a very hot night during the heatwave in July but there is a super terrace on the top floor where I was able to enjoy a coffee in the early morning cool. There is also a table and chairs up there for guests to use. Ian has an allotment and arrived in the morning with a watermelon and a sweet melon which he had just picked. So delicious. A really lovely stay, my tip would be to book the local restaurant, la table de casino, to avoid disappointment.

We were guests at a wedding at the Chateau De Puits Es Pratx (see my separate review of it) and Margaret was a wonderful host with plenty of stories to keep us entertained. Her B&B is very comfortable. Our bathroom was great (we shared it with some friends) and the bath was excellent!||Margaret was very gracious despite us being quite noisy guests - thank you again for your hospitality.||Margaret, the only reason you lose a 'star' is because the croissants for breakfast were not very nice... please go to the boulangerie for your bread/croissants and everything will be perfect!

My travel plans meant I had to find 3 nights accommodation in Ginestas and was lucky enough to find L'Orchadee. it is a beautiful home delightfully decorated and furnished in the local style.||Margret gives the warmest welcome and will do every thing she can to make your stay special, she found bus and train times and arranged for a taxi to pick me up from the nearest station at Lezignon when I arrived and a taxi to Narbonne at the end of my visit.||Her knowledge of the region the village and it's bars and restaurants is invaluable and her French, perfect!||The breakfasts were delicious, melon, the best croissant and pain au rasin I've had in years, bread so fresh it was still warm, fruit juice, yogurt and endless coffee, all shared with the lovely young families also staying.||The honesty bar on the roof terrace which has the most fabulous far reaching views over pantiled roofs to vineyards stretching over the undulating country side, is a perfect spot to reflect on the day and prepare for the evening. ||I hope to stay again next year.

Absolutely stunning b&b. We only stayed one night but I could have stayed forever! Margaret was a charming host and made us feel like we had known her for years. We will certainly be returning. L'Orchidee is a must!
