Still need to simplify the ticket system. Lovely atmosphere and enjoyable experience. Looking forwards to the next three. Also need different queues for different food. I felt sorry for Some people who queued for a long time just for a drink.
A wonderful little village teaming with artistic talent. Every few doorways there is an artisans workshop where you can find every imaginable skill being displayed from painting, drawing, pottery, embroidery, jewellery and metalwork to puppets, cutlery and fine foods. Best to visit during the special evening events when the town is bustling with people eating, listening and watching the street performers and watching the artisans at work. Great fun for the whole family.
Reasonably interesting but in a beautiful setting of a small Vendée village, full of artisan workshops making proper "handmade" (in front of your eyes) souvenirs and local specialities - not so much your jam and cheese place, but more of a farmers and hunters knives and leather goods and wooden clogs kinds of place. Yes the locals used to wear (and some still do) wooden clogs (known as 'sabot' in French) - as usual in any French village, plan to have a coffee or glass of something in the local welcoming cafés.
nocturnes markets in sallertaine are really special...all of the artisan creatifs are open and selling..entertainment in the square and park and a great ticketing system for food n drink...marvellous atmosphere..well done
They have good local shop who works with glass, leather, jewelry, pottery and paintings. It's worth a visit
Very nice hand made glass works very friendly kids asking questions about his work.... great! Must see
Maybe not worth a day trip, but if you're passing by, definitely worth a 50km detour to spend a couple of hours.
Very nice village. Worth a visit and a coffee opposite the post office.
